We stayed at The Doghouse Inn for two nights with my partner and our dog, and we had a great experience. Check-in was simple and quick. The room was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. It had everything we needed, and we felt really welcome from the moment we arrived. The staff were friendly and helpful, and our dog was treated like a guest too, which we really appreciated. Overall, it was a lovely stay and we would definitely come back.

Lovely room with great food and drink

Beautifully decorated room and bathroom, very comfortable bed. We had food and drinks at the Seadog pub which we would highly recommend. The only downside was the noise which was to be expected above a pub on a Saturday night but could also hear people going up and down the stairs during the night. Otherwise could not fault and host very helpful.

Grubby, but with high-end fixtures & fittings. Odd

Great communication and brilliant coded door access to building and room (uses your phone number), so no need to check in/out as such. Bed and fixtures/fittings were all high quality BUT there was no table or chair in the room (business trip, so I work in the room usually, and had to do this in bed here!), the communal space carpet (stair runner) was horribly grubby, and the walls were stripped of wallpaper and plaster missing in some places too, and left like that. The room was similar, in that wallpaper was stripped (with little bits still on) so it feels unfinished and dirty. I think it way be some sort of ‘shabby-chic’ look, only due to the high-end equipment, but it’s certainly for me. Toilet and shower within 1M of bed, and no walls! I travelled alone, and while I’m sure some folk wouldn’t mind, being there as a couple and having to see, hear and smell your partner on the toilet is really not an attractive thought! Shower is not an issue, and aside from the sash window being open as it was hot, which blew the curtains open occasionally, giving the busy street a good view, actually the shower being next to the bed was surprisingly useful in hot temperatures to cool off quickly. No designated parking (multi-storey car park very close though, £12.50 per night), no option for breakfast. Noisy until about 23:30 due to live music from the pub. Personally that’s not an issue, but it may be for others. Absolutely no noise overnight at all after 23:30 though.

Nice but a bit cramped. Could have done with tea and a kettle. Otherwise good.

Great place to stay

I cannot fault the room at all we had the family room. So clean and the furnishings were lovely. Bed was super comfortable. Communication from the premises was spot-on. Explained everything about checking in which was so easy. Didn’t sample the food in the pub downstairs however it smelt amazing.

Room exactly how advertised, bathroom was immaculate and overall room was great. Perfect location. Nice vintage feel but is clearly very well kept. The front door and room having electronic keypad with codes was very handy meaning no need to check in and easy access in and out. More than enough space for the two of us. Room was bright and airy.
