The hotel is located steps from the Old Bridge! My wife and I had a great time at the hotel. We were very lucky to have been there while the entire town was celebrating the anniversary of the Old Bridge and it was awesome! There were food and beer stands around the city and the hotel. Lots of great German food! We walked every where without a problem. The castle was an amazing experience and so was walking all over Old Town. We definitely loved our stay at Hotel Holländer Hof!!!

The staff was very helpful, especially being able to speak English and help answer questions and information I needed to navigate around town. I give the staff an A +. The rooms were spacious, beds comfortable and overall very comfortable. Could not beat the location for walking and exploring the town. I enjoyed my stay and hope to be back one day.

I love this hotel. I’ve stayed several times over the last 12 years and always have a wonderful time. The area is perfect, the staff kind and thoughtful, and some of the rooms have breathtaking views. Any time I go to Heidelberg, this is where I’ll stay.

Good but some minor quibbles and a major one.

The low final assessment is based on what was the most disappointing breakfast I've encountered in over 30 years of continental holidays. I chose the light option as I don't enjoy cooked breakfast (22 euros anyway!) but guests were presented with a small tray without any choice of bread, cooked meats and cheese. Even the jam was prescribed. My room was spacious enough but the main light switch was nowhere near the head of the bed. Also the lift does not reach fourth floor rooms so one flight of stairs has to be negotiated. Not ideal for an 80-year-old with a heavy suitcase. (Pre-booking research needed!) I have to say that the reception staff were very pleasant and helpful and the location,by Heidelberg's Old Bridge, could not have been bettered.

Beautiful property and friendly staff. Right in the old town and our room overlooked the river and bridge. Great location (albeit 1.2km walk from the trams and approx 3km from the train station) so if you’re not into waking you’ll need to learn the bus system or hop in a cab.

Heidelberg stay

This is a great place to stay to feel part of the old town in Heidelberg. Great views across the river. The restaurants and bars close at 10.30pm in the old town, so it’s not noisy at night time. It was very hot weather when I stayed and the room didn’t have aircon but I kept the windows open and fan on and slept well. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Would be nice to have facilities to make hot drink in room. I’d definitely recommend this to friends and I’d stay again if I was in Heidelberg. Perfect location to explore. Easy to get the bus from outside the hotel to go back up to the train station etc
