This is a hard inn to get to via the roads and woefully understaffed. The staff who was there worked so hard but there was not enough of them. The whole inn could use a facelift in furniture and design and still be in sync with the time period. The bathroom had no heat and was freezing. There was only 1 heat source in the bedroom.

We stayed in a twi room with the narrowest twin beds I have ever seen in my life - measuring about 2.5 feet in width. The mattresses were similarly not very comfortable. While the hotel is in the process of finishing up renovations so that the interior is quite new, the meals were quite dated, with offerings that weren't very contemporary and were very simple. They seemed to have one person waiting on all of the tables for dinner and breakfast and she was really frantic trying to address everyone's needs. It was hard to see how the hotel justified the price they charged.

The staff was very friendly. Our room had lots of space. We enjoyed spending time in the drawing room and sitting outside. We explored the beach across the street and found sea loch anemone on the rocks. We liked being able to have breakfast and dinner at the hotel dining room.

Excellent stay. Customer service throughout was superb, we were made to feel so welcome. Room was lovely, spacious and recently refurbished. Food for dinner and breakfast was delicious. Great location and so relaxing. We would certainly return. Highly recommended.
