Lovely staff, lovely food & accommodation. The location was great and easy access for a lovely walk to the Sycamore Gap. A very enjoyable stay.
very nice room, recently rtenovated and you could tell. restaurant had a good mix of food on and bar staff very welcoming. had a dog with us and no issues. he was well looked after. its on a tourist route but actually the staff looked like they really enjoyed their jobs. warm fire in the evenning and the brewery was nice too.
We had a lovely stay in a comfortable room. We had a nice dinner in the bar which was warm and welcoming. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful and served with a smile.
And the beer’s not bad either!
I was a completely unplanned visitor who trekked the moors at night to reach the Inn. Though the only thing that happened on the moors was fulfilling an American's silly Holmesian fantasy of walking the moors at night, everyone was concerned for my safety and I really appreciated that.
My stay was wonderful, the food was really delicious, and everyone with whom I spoke was just up-front and pleasant.
I will be back some day and guess where I'll stay?
Wonderful stop if you're in the area. Very close to Steel Rigg. Staff were very friendly & there was a great vibe in the bar. Food (dinner & breakfast) was lovely. Room had everything you need including large towels which was a bonus!
This is such an amazing place. Its in a really wild location very close to Hadrian's Wall, beautiful countryside - but it can get a little wet and windy. So stepping into this cosy welcoming place and having some of their own beer and food in front of the fire is just exactly what you want. Stay the whole weekend and explore the Vindolanda museum. You can even get there by bus! And at night the stars are so bright
Nice quiet and clean room, staff really looked after us, nothing was any trouble, food was delicious, the stargazing was brilliant even though it was cloudy the planetarium was a fantastic! Very informative, well worth a visit!
Nice clean room, bonus drying room excellent food, the staff absolutely brilliant, and what a lovely place to stay on my hadrians wall walk, just past the sycamore gap and at night you feel like you can touch the stars 🌟 overall 10/10 experience 😀 thanks 👍 Jason from bolton
