Property abuts beautiful Japanese garden & city park. Sunset was gorgeous. Staff friendly & professional. Would like a small light in bathroom instead of flooding the whole place in light when getting up during the night. BEST SHOWER you could want! Steak restaurant on premises is excellent but a little pricey. Nice people.

Didn't like that the door wasn't all the way to the floor so it let in the noise from the hallway. The breakfast packages weren't environmentally friendly. Should of use bio-gradable paper plates and only use plastic containers on request.

Hilo Hawaiian Hotel is fine.
The Hilo Hawaiian is a beautiful hotel with a sea side location. My only gripe was the included continental breakfast.

Terrible “continental breakfast” serving an unpeeled orange, stale croissant and Luke warm coffee in a plastic to go container. Not even a paper plate to help the environment, let alone a real plate. Carpets are stained, curtains ripped and generally rundown. Too bad because it’s a great location

We had an oceanfront room which was spacious and had a nice view, and the hotel is located in a convenient location. However, the AC was very noisy and we couldn't sleep with it on at night. Also the free breakfast was very disappointing with only coffee/tea, banana muffins and oatmeal when I got there at 7:30am. Breakfast was 6:30-10am and I heard there was bagels before 7am! I found it misleading for the hotel to advertise "free continental breakfast" included.
