We walked in the room and were astounded by the beautiful water views. Lovely balcony. We had a fridge and microwave. Perfect for us. The location was very quiet. Bed was very comfortable. A lovely stay.

Like that it’s it’s priced reasonably and like having an ice box and burner to cook but no air conditioner and the fan needs to be constantly on me to breath and that cause me to catch a cold but other than that Love It ♥️

Reeds was very clean with comfortable beds, although an older hotel. Nothing fancy. It could stand some undating but the room had everything you needed with a kitchenette. We had a bayview room which was nice to watch the sunrise and boats in Reeds Bay. No AC, but the fans kept it very comfortable. No elevators, but we pack light. The staff were very helpful with much aloha. Being local islanders, this was an affordable option. Not for folks looking for a high end resort with all the fees, but very clean, close walking to parks, Hilo Bay, downtown market, and free parking. We will stay here again.

I'd stay here again!

Hilo Reeds is run by some bery nice people. The hotel itself, the pool is tiny. Walking to your room can b intimidating given the corridors are long and dark. The room is plain, clearly had several face lifts .. the bed is PHENOMENAL! No air conditioner but 2 fams definitely helped. My room was near the water. Iverall id stay again.

The hotel is Tour's Trap. When my husband and I pulled up on the parking lot, we were a little shock of how old the building is, it is NOT as advertised -False Advertise. The building is old, it's clean, does not have AC (we were okay with that) but the airflow was not circulating. The reason I was not happy about it, we planned on staying for three nights, but our plan changed, we need to check out a night early, but the front desk clerk and the manager will not return our REFUND for the night we did not stay. They said it is a penalty that we checked out one night early. The front desk clerk/manager charge us the one night we didn't stay, the tax, and the fee.
Overall, the building is outdated, and on top of that, they will not refund us for the night that we did not stay.

Love that it is right on the water. Be sure you know that there is no air conditioning in these rooms which can be hit or miss as far as temperatures and humidity levels in what you are used to goes. For the price for a two star hotel, I thought it was a little pricey for the accommodations that they have or don’t have. I feel like they are monopolizing on the fact that they are near the water, which is nice, but I still feel the prices should be cheaper for the very minimal amenities in the rooms and the hotel itself.
