The location of the hotel is very close to the shopping area and the shrine. Could use some updating and renovation but the friendly staff and the food were both excellent.
Good value for money as the onsen hotel is located at the centre of everything. Deco were a bit worn out, but acceptable. The only drawback was perhaps that being school holiday period wherefore plenty of kids were making the onsen bath their play pool. Not too relaxing when one soaks in an onsen with much "waves"
The staff in the hotel were very accommodating and helpful. Though they spoke limited English they tried their very best to understand us and with the help of google translate, our requests were conveyed (lol). Beautiful koi pond and a central location for exploring miyajima island. Five min stroll along the shore to the tori and a plethora of fresh oysters and local cuisines in the vicinity
It was a Japanese style hotel and room. You leave your shoes downstairs in alocker and the bed is a low mattress on the floor. The couch in our room was also low. It was a bit difficult for someone with a creaky western back to comfortably use the furniture.
Made the reservation in English and they had assigned an English speaker to our room despite one of us being Japanese. Easy to get around and nice location for the activities we wanted to do.
From the moment we arrived, the staff did an outstanding job taking care of our every need. The meals provided were excellent and very well presented. I would highly recommend this for someone looking for a traditional stay in a beautiful location.
