Easy check in, clean room, parking right in front of cottage, great breakfast. We loved this guesthouse for a variety of reasons. There is a great hiking trail from the guesthouse, their dog 'Saga' was super fun and friendly and we saw the aurora from right outside our door. This is a place I would definitely recommend and look forward to staying here again.

This guesthouse was very accommodating along our Ring Road trip. The rooms were nice and clean. The views around the property are nice. There are sheep hanging out and a dog with one eye that likes to fetch sticks. Breakfast was adequate. The only downside is the it is about 30 mins plus from restaurants and/or grocery store.

Location Location Location The guesthouse was a wonderful location to access the hiking trail to the glacier. We stayed in one of the two-unit bunk houses. The room was small but we enjoyed it. Despite the howling winds, we were cozy. Our main goal was to hike to the glacier. We were provided with a great breakfast for hiking. It offered an array of food options that left us ready for a morning long trek. The staff was excellent. This is a no frills option that was more than adequate for what we sought. We literally left the parking lot and got on the trail for a fantastic three to four hour hike. If your goal is to enjoy a great morning on the trail, this your place.

We absolutely loved our stay at this property. The spacious, modern room and view of the river and countryside out our window was incredible. Wished we could have stayed longer! This working farm was quiet, and the family who owned the property was working the breakfast area, with a 1-yr old in tow, which made for an even homier experience.

Breakfast was amazing and had great selection. The check in was easy and fast. I thought that arriving at 9pm would be late, but there was a nice man at the reception building and was expecting me. The room was amazing, the best one I’ve had since I arrived in Iceland! It was spacious, clean, modern, etc. the bathroom was large and had everything you’d need. Bed and linens were comfy and good quality. 😊. I would stay here again if I ever in the area again.

Wonderful spot! Excellent location, plenty to do nearby and a very nice hike that starts right from the property. Service was exceptional and very friendly. Responsive and quick to help with any issues that arise. Would highly recommend!

We encountered no hot water at the first night as we checked in late and had to come back to the hotel in the afternoon next day to make sure there’s hot water before it ran out again. Then there was another issue in the room. The hair dryer was not working and I had to go outside with wet hair to get a working hair dryer. I sent a complaint message to the hotel but never heard back from them. The money we paid for the two nights stay is not worth for the condition. We were quite disappointed. I would not recommend this hotel.

Positives - Room was clean, check in was easy. Food in restaurant was extremely tasty, staff very friendly. WiFi fast and reliable. No TV in room, but this great if you are looking for peace and quiet Fabulous stay! Negative - charging points for EV weren't working.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Skaftafell! The food was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and perfect after a long day of exploring the south coast. The room was very clean and comfortable, with everything we needed for a relaxing night. The location is also ideal for visiting nearby glaciers and waterfalls, and the views are stunning. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through the area!

Awesome little cottages that were very cozy and comfortable. The property is right off the ring road but tucked in a farm with a supremely friendly dog and cliffs and a river right there. The breakfast is absolutely worth it and a lovely way to start the day.

We mistakenly thought we were booking a guesthouses in Hofn. We had to drive 30 minutes each way to find an open restaurant in Hofn. The closer one Riki's was closed.
