This location was wonderful for being close to Diamond beach and the glacier lagoon. It was quiet, clean, comfortable. Wish we had more time to stay here!
Absolutely gorgeous location in the Icelandic countryside. We ate a fabulous dinner here the night we arrived. My husband had Arctic char and I had the pan fried cod. Topped it off with a delicious lime skyr cheesecake. Breakfast buffet the next morning was just as wonderful. The staff is warm and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
Quaint family farm with cozy accommodations and great restaurant with locally sourced food. Perfect location for Diamond Beach and Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon.
We stayed in an apartment which cost over USD $300. The carpet was greatly frayed and the the toilet paper consisted of paper sheets inside a wall dispenser (similar to grade school when I was a child). But worse was the smell! Terrible foul odor that drove my wife nuts. Also, we ate dinner in their restaurant and the food was OK. However, we ordered dessert and they never brought it to us. After 25 minutes we got up to pay. While paying, I told the manager that we never got dessert and all he offered was a terse apology and took the charge from my bill. Not a good way to end an expensive meal costing over $160! A big mistake staying at this hotel.
Our room was so spacious. Our window also faced the ocean, so we could hear the waves subtly all night...so relaxing. The included breakfast buffet was delicious, and dinner was excellent food as well. Highly recommend.
This hotel was just “ok”. There was no soap in the shower, so had to bring the glass soap dispenser into the shower and there was no shelf to put anything on so had to put shampoo, razor on the floor. The breakfast was excellent with lots of options. The dinner was passable with very small portions and was very pricey. The four people o. Our party all left hungry.
The staff is lovely. The rooms are like dormatories. Functional but no creature comforts. No TV, no way to control the heat (too hot to sleep) but it’s quiet.
The hotel is situated in a very stunning location and is just a 12 minute drive away from the Jokusarlon Glacier Lagoon. The rooms are inviting and comfortable. The view from the room is very beautiful. Perfect for a 1 night stay.
This hotel is very close to the glacier lagoon and is in a quiet and quaint location. This was the only hotel we stayed at that wasn't in Reykjavik and I enjoyed that it felt more like real Iceland. It is in an isolated area so the serenity is good but not much to do there and the hotel is the only dining option. The dinner at the hotel was excellent and the breakfast was also good and included. Very easy check in. The rooms and bathroom were spacious.
The rooms were a little sparce and the bathrooms had some odd toilet paper dispenser which dispensed individual toilet paper sheets which is odd coming from America. But the room had everything we need for a night and is close to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon.
The real gem was dinner. It easily had some of the best food we had in Iceland with many of the items coming from a local farm. Seriously food alone would sell us on another night here.
Would definitely stay here again.
