While the location is well kept and we enjoyed a clean, well equipped room and I was very pleased to have the hot tub, it really is the staff there that made our stay great. I believe the front desk gent we interacted with the most is Eric, he was very helpful, but everyone was good. The lady who operated the breakfast buffet with a gent each day is an extremely hard working (never stopped!) and hospitable asset to the hotel.

Staff was very helpful and professional with problems and requests. While modernly appointed with comfortable beds and seating, some carpets and areas are stained and in need of refurbishment. There was mold in our walk in shower. Not many dishes in our kitchenette. Had to get cups from the breakfast bufffet just to have coffee in room.

Staff was friendly and helpful. The first-floor 1-bedroom suite we were provided upon arrival was disgusting. It smelled of urine mixed with cleaning supplies. The bathroom walls were splattered with what I assume was dried urine. The suite had a lounge chair in the bedroom and there were ants crawling on the chair. There seemed to be mold or mildew on the ceiling above the wall vent in the living room area. It was awful. We requested a new room and got one right away, thanks to the helpful staff. The replacement room was on the third floor instead of the first. It smelled of mildew mixed with cleaning supplies, but the cleanliness was better and no bugs... I couldn’t shake feeling grossed out our entire stay. I felt itchy the entire time especially in bed. I will never stay at a Staybridge again due to this experience. I’m angry that I booked using Expedia and were forced to stay at this disgusting hotel with two children as we couldn’t get a refund. HORRIBLE. Additionally, the website stated we would have access to a free crib at check-in and I made a request on our reservation as well. We have an infant and a crib was a necessity. When we checked in at the front desk and I asked about the crib, the employee made it seem as though we might not be able to get one. He ended up “finding one,” but this added to some of my frustration. This place is advertised as being “kid” and “family-friendly” which is one of the main reasons we booked it, but that was not our experience.

I slept better in the hotel bed than at home, so comfortable and the air conditioner stayed on all night, I need the noise to sleep so that was much appreciated. We enjoyed the courtyard and the pool as well as breakfast in the morning. We were close enough to drive to Saugutuck to sight see and visit the beach there many times.

Sewer gas leak, unfit place to stay

There was a sewer gas leak in our room, broken furniture, the shower didn’t drain, flies everywhere, the list goes on. Absolutely disgusting place, I would never stay at this company’s hotels again. There was a sewer smell throughout the hotel that they tried to cover up with strong air freshener. Nauseating. The manager was terrible to me and did not help. It was appalling. This was the worst place I’ve ever stayed.

Our stay was great. We had a 2 bedroom suite and we had plenty of space for everyone. Only complaint would be the air conditioning. It seemed rather under-powered for a multiple room suite as it really didn’t cool the third master bedroom very well. Likely this is due to a single room air conditioning unit in a 3+ room suite. This is the only complaint.
