The Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort was a great place to be. It was central to many places and it offered a lot of things to do at the resort. Shopping, food was excellent. It did lack a place to hang out after hours to eat and lounge. The Tapa Bar was the only place available but that closed pretty early. In regards to the rooms and hallways, they were outdated, stained and not maintained well. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. The beach was right outside our hotel which is a big plus. CONS: Hilton charges a $50 resort fee but still charges you $100 a day for a beach umbrella and chairs. And you have to pay extra to use paddle boats too. What is the $50 for? pool and gym? What a rip off. A beach hotel and it doesn't include the beach accessories with their resort fee. And not to mention, the $70 parking is outrageous. I doubt I will stay here again. Too many fees that add up too quickly.

Overall it was a good place to stay. We stayed in ocean view room on floor 22 of the Tapa tower which has been refurbished. The room was at the back of the building though and is more like a partial ocean view room as the main view from the room was the building opposite, you had to go onto the balcony to get the ocean view so this was disappointing as the view was nothing like what is advertised online and we paid extra for the ocean view over a partial ocean view room. On the positive side, the room was much larger than expected with two sinks and a large couch as well as a table with chairs. Shower took a very long time to heat up as well. Easy walk to Ala Moana mall and great place to stay in a Friday for the fireworks.

Diamond Head Tower is old, but well located with the beach and other pools close by. Also, it is where the Uber pick up and drop off is located.
