The staff was amazing. The pool was nice. We did the lei making workshop with Cecelia which was very cool. We attended the wine and cheese event with the Hawaiian music and dancing and it was very fun. Our room was perfect and quiet. The location was a short walk to the beach and to everywhere we wanted to go! We will definitely stay at Luana every time we come to Honolulu!

The hotel is surrounded by a park, no skyhigh hotels looking down at you. It was like a tiny village where you would meet friends at poolside and share Hawaiian adventure stores.

Don't be fooled by the Price

Very below average hotel with high resort fees and very high daily parking fees. Hotel hallways had a bad odor, lobby on two different days smelled like hot trash. Room was very small and extremely outdated. I would not stay there again.

Great location and almost a great hotel

Overall this hotel is in a great location. I think that’s the beat part of it. Minutes from the beach, right on a main street, and right next to a park where you can jog. Front desk staff is great and they have a wine & cheese event that is very nice for guests. It helps you meet other guests in case you’re traveling solo. Gym is also pretty decent (although some of the machines need to be oiled a bit). The cons: the only water filter is in the lobby and is superrrrrr slow so I had to buy gallons of water which are expensive in Honolulu. One of the bell guys is lazy - the first day I got there he pointed me to the ramp, didn’t even help me with my luggage. Then when it was time to put my baggage away until my room was available, he told me to write my own ticket and push my liggage into the room. He then looked at me like he was expecting a tip! So, I believe the bell people need to be trained in how to work for a hotel. 3rd con is no microwave in some of the rooms but they do have a toaster oven. Who uses a toaster oven instead of a microwave?

The room was nice, clean, and equipped with a kitchenette. The bedding was poor and we had to ask for an additional blanket. The staff were so kind, friendly, and helpful. We reserved a partial ocean view, however, the ocean was not at all visible from our room. The balconies are small and a little dizzying. Good location next to a walkable park and just down from the busyness of Waikiki. There is a very small, crowded swimming pool. No breakfast on-site. There are resort fees and valet is mandatory.

My room was upgraded to a full kitchen which came in handy for preparing meals. Nice sitting area with a couch and tv with premium channels. Lanai was a bonus with a nice view.
