The location is excellent. It is located on the beach and is walking distance to every thing. all areas of the hotel is clean. It’s quite & peaceful. The staff is nice especially Elsa from housekeeping. She is very professional, attentive and nice. Whenever she see us, she greeted us with a smile and checked to be sure that we had everything that we needed. John from the pool area is also very nice and attentive to the guests.

I’m NOT sure if Expedia was aware but the Royal Hawaiian was aware of a strike that was gonna take place 9/1/24 the day we arrived. They didn’t notify me to warn me or give me the option to change or cancel my trip which was horrible the first few days. No housekeeping, no restaurants were open, no room service, my check-in was suppose to be at 3pm, got the keys to the room at 6pm due to the strike. We had to take down our own trash, there was a stained pillow in our room, no towels, no bath robes. All of this is only major due to the price I paid and what my expectations were since I had just been here in July and my experience then was Amazing. The strike had come to an agreement halfway through our vacation and it got better but I Wish it would of been the same the second time around

They sold a room as” ocean view” which had a very very small “peek a boo” view of the ocean, almost no view. Rooms are very small, bathrooms very small as well. Quality of towels was very poor and very old and rough to skin. We didn’t have room service for two days. They sold packages of pre- made breakfast( because dinning was closed” to all the guests for $25 which you could easily get it for $10 somewhere else. They didn’t have in room dining which they had advertised. Overall very old hotel for a big price. I wouldn’t recommend it at all.

Hotel is old and dirty rooms, found and killed a cockroach, the hotel workers were on strike for 4 days, no restaurant, no room service. They only had a continantal breakfast to go for $25 and the croissants were stale. They did not offer anything for a discount until I argued. I payed 6000 for the trip they gave me $400 off. They should had a congestion plan for the strike that the employees were aware of. I have pictures and video

The property is beautiful, I love all the pink around the area of the hotel. The only thing is that since it is one of the oldest hotels on Waikiki, it does need some maintenance. Maybe changing out the carpets in the hallways and rooms. The prices for renting out beach chairs with umbrellas gets expensive if you want to go to the beach everyday. I would’ve liked if it was covered with the total of the stay. But overall it is beautiful, and it’s in a perfect location and the staff are wonderful

Beautiful historical hotel, friendly room staff, close to shops and restaurants, beach is small but nice, pool is very small. You need to reserve beach chairs very early in the morning and with the strong sun it’s a must.
