Under expectations

First room we got had a dog smell. They switch us room on second day but we had to check out at noon and only got the second room at 3h pm. The other room was better but had a high humidity feel. There was heavy rain on day 3 and water was coming in the room from under both sliding doors. We had to put towels all over the doors to stop water from coming in. This didn’t help at all for the humidity feel in the room!! The only positive was a cool vibe at the hotel bar / restaurant. We’ll definitely not stay there again.

They renovated an older hotel so it has a newer look and feel. Rooms are nice, balcony is big, and the ground floor has a pool, couches, a restaurant, and a coffee shop. Overall, a nice vibe. Location is great -- 10 min walk to beach, shopping malls, target, and lots of restaurants. Would stay again.

No Jack but still great vibes!

Was hoping to catch sight of jack but alas :( it was still great! The room was cozy and clean (very very minimal sand lol). AC felt so nice after being out in the sun. Employees were so nice and helpful. Would stay again to hopefully meet jack!

The hotel is in a not so good neighborhood & it really needs to deep cleaning. The bathroom doors need a good deep cleaning too. The check in stuff was very nice.

Not the best fit for me

Some areas well kept up, such as pool area. Others not so much. Hotel certainly showing its age. I don't prefer so many dogs around, sorta makes my skin crawl as I have significant allergies. Lastly, I asked for a room with one queen bed but they pressured me into one with two queens which I definitely don't prefer....

SurfJack is my favorite inexpensive Hotel in Waikiki. Its a great location, has a great vibe, and the staff is always amazing. I've stayed there at least three times, and I'll keep coming back.

Lack of parking was a huge issue. The hotel hallways, elevator and rooms looked like the place was rented out by the hour. The glade plug in air freshener in the room was disturbing. The white stains on the pull out couch indicates someone in fact did pull out. The orange water from the shower head and bathroom tap was alarming.

Nice stay at SurfJack

The staff were very friendly & accommodating! We enjoyed the free activities such as Aqua Zumba. We liked that environmentally friendly sunscreen was provided! The restaurant service was great. Nice balcony view of the pool! *The only issue we had was that there was a urine smell in the living room & it was on the sofa. Since this is a dog friendly hotel it could have come from a pet as well as a human. When reported to the front desk they immediately replaced the sofa cushions.

Stylish, low-key, friendly hotel

We had a wonderful time in this stylish hotel. Centrally located with a low-key lounge next to the pool. We could walk everywhere in Waikiki. Dinner and drinks in the restaurant were excellent!
