Hot Springs SD Super 8.
No one at the desk. Had to search around and finally saw a small sign to call 0 and someone came. When we got to the room we saw that there was feces stuck to the toilet bowl so the bowl hadn’t been cleaned. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Some of the channels on the tv that showed available on the guide were not available. The area for the continental breakfast was freezing cold.

Nice one-night stay, carpet in hallways is new and the furniture in my room was also new. As usual the host was very friendly and checked me in quickly. The stay was comfortable and quiet. Nice to see the upgrades since my last stay. Also great location right next door to Mammoth Site and a delicious Mexican restaurant.

This property is conveniently located next to the Mammoth Site and Museum. There is also a fantastic Mexican restaurant on the adjacent property. Perfect getaway weekend for the annual bison round up at Custer State Park!

There are 2 ways of evaluating this hotel. If you’re a single guy and don’t want to pay $200/night — it’s maybe acceptable. If you’re anything else and have standards other than price - may look elsewhere. Positive: it’s safe and cheap. On the negative: lobby feels like you’re in East Europe, the room smelled - WE cleaned the AC air filter, the bed had a sheet and blanket from 1985, and breakfast was simply checking the box that they had breakfast — all carbs, nothing hot but a waffle maker and toast where the only topping was a giant peanut butter jar 7” tall and 5” knives - which meant all our knuckles were “familiar”. Again, I get its hard to find help in remote USA for minimum wage; if you’re on a budget this place will probably check the box; if you have anyone in your party with standards and/or consider - 2-star hotel camping — everyone will be happier paying more elsewhere.

Stayed for 4 nights and not once did we get our room serviced. No fresh towels, no bed made nothing! Hotel could sure use a good remodel. I have never stayed at a motel where the front desk was seldomly managed. He was always in his live in area with the family.

Happy Home Away From Home
This Super 8 has undergone fairly recent renovations. It's not a luxurious place, but everything was clean and well card for. The recliners in the room were an unexpected touch and very comfortable. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. It is also walking distance to The Mammoth Site, which was one of our local destinations.

Room was clean and bed was comfy. Staff was very friendly. Continental breakfast was sufficient. I travel with dogs and the area behind the hotel was nice and grassy and clean. My only complaint is the area around the second entrance had cigarette butts and small pieces of trash everywhere.
