For the price, the Galaxia was exactly what I was expecting it to be. I stayed there three days while doing day hikes to help acclimatize to the elevation before going off on a four-day trek. They stored my luggage for free when I went on the trek. The service was good: they helped me book my return bus ticket to Lima when I asked for help. It's in a good part of town, about a five-minute walk to most of the restaurants I went to.
Staff were great helping in many aspects of my trip. Location is great too.

Nice Huaraz location
I stayed at the Galaxia for 4 nights while doing some hiking day trips in the Cordillera Blanca. The staff was very nice. Wifi fairly fast. Close to restaurants.
This is a very good hotel for its price. The staff are excellent, very helpful. The hotel is well situated so you can be in the middle of Huaraz in 2 minutes. I would stay here again.
Originally we were given a room with twin beds, the room was so small it was only meant for 1 bed. The TV wasn't working so we were moved to a room with three beds. Where the mattress in the lower bunk bed was very old and worn, and I can usually sleep on anything. The room was warm however for some reason they had piled 4 layers of thick blankets on the bed. Average breakfast, hot water and wifi good. For a little extra I would have been more comfortable somewhere else.
The hotel workers were the best part of Galaxia. Everyone we met was friendly and very helpful, allowing us to check in early and arranging tours for our stay. Although the common areas were in great condition and the room itself was clean, the hotel is in desperate need of renovations. The wifi only really worked in the common areas and not in the room. The room carpet was filthy with visible dirt and stains and coming off the wall in some places. In addition, the shower (although warm) barely worked. I've never seen anything like it...the water only came out of two holes of the shower head. Although things were generally clean, there was a good sized clump of someone else's hair waiting for us in the shower when we arrived and that caused me to wonder what the red sheets might be hiding. For the price, it was a good value, but I wish we had spend a little more for a shower that worked.

In town but old fashioned
This is a typical Peru hotel with windows facing inwards to the courtyard, meaning that any noise is heard in the room. Fortunately the hotel was empty so I slept OK.
They are renovating the entrance but there were probably other priorities.
The staff are v helpful
The ratio price-quality is excellent for Hotel Galaxia which offers quiet, cosy rooms with all relevant amenities (shower with hot water, TV, wireless, public access computer with internet). It is adjacent to a small square with good food shops (bakery, joghurt store). The terminal for day tourist bus trips with a number of local travel and mountaineering agencies is at 3 minutes, the main shopping street at 5 minutes walk.

Great value for money
Private bathroom with hot water, a clean double bed, and even a TV and really good wifi access - was not expecting all of this for the bargain price. Lovely lady and her sweet elderly mother running the hotel. And they even let us check in straight away when we arrived at 7am. They also help with tour bookings in the surrounding area so you don't need to do anything.

good for it money
It is not good but It works well for it money . We had 7 nights in different rooms after our hikes in Cordillera Blanca . Rooms are very small . But biggest problem - noise . Peruvians too noisy .
A equipe a medida do possível e bem atenciosa.
