Staff and room were excellent. Coffee station is great with some fruit, and waffles and rolls/pastries. Location is very convenient to Warren Street and shops etc. Elevator is out of service, and there does seem to be some work going on, front entrance boarded up. "Please excuse our appearance" etc etc. All told, it was clean and comfy and convenient. Just not a luxury hotel.

This property was not as described on EXPEDIA nor their website. TV service was not available, the microwave did not work, the elevator was out of service. Breakfast was included from 7:30a-9:30a, however it was set up late on both mornings that I was there. I chose a hotel with breakfast specifically because my husband was there on a business trip with a tight schedule. I came to relax and enjoy my stay in the hotel and to explore the town. I was disappointed that I could not watch some tv when I was in the room. The room was clean with a comfortable bed. The hotel has a great location with a lot of potential. I hope they improve the property and hire more staff in the near future. The location is perfect for walking around the main street of Hudson (Warren Street) with restaurants in walking distance.

Good not great

The best thing this hotel has going for it is its location. The beds are comfortable. TV in the room didn’t work. Bathroom door didn’t lock. Not bad for its price, but there are better options in Hudson.

When walking into the hotel, there was no one, we had to call a number. The overall conditions of the hotel was a remodel in process going wrong. There was no TV, breakfast was old all the times, there was never anyone at the front desk and not to mention several hazardous areas that should a fire where to occur in the hotel, it can be a liability.

Avoid St Charles Hotel-Hudson!!!!

Disgusting dump…I stayed here 5 years ago and loved it. New owners, dirty-stains on walls and lamps, asked for another room, Dirty towels left on bathroom door, unkept, frig not working, the cable was disconnected for “non-payment” the elevator doesn’t work, (which we were not told until After we checked in!) There was no toilet paper in the “lobby”bathroom, cables running from a room window through the lobby, the front entry door slammed 24hrs a day (under or room window), which is Unlocked, they did not shovel/clear ice and snow from entry steps after 2 snow events…there is no one present at the front desk, just a cel # to call and both the attendants were very rude! Only offered a $20 credit for lack of TV service. We couldn’t check out, because a major storm was approaching, which they reminded us “there is no place else for you to stay”

Proximity to small shops in town was convenient. The 2 biggest negatives while we were there were: If you are handicapped, the elevator was out of service and the rooms are above the first floor. TV service was not working, even after multiple attempts by staff to reset. So if there's a need to entertain yourself, or young ones, while lodging, consider having a backup plan.

My room was clean with fresh sheets and duvet on a comfortable bed. I loved the walk-in ceramic shower. The curtains show a little wear but that did not bother me. The location cannot be surpassed as you can walk to many restsurants and shops. I will definitely stay here again. There are some renovations going on, but again, that did not bother me. The owner was most cordial and welcoming. I did not try the included breakfast because I was exhausted and slep in the first morning. The 2nd morning I had a 6:17 a.m. train so I missed it again. I did look over the dining area and saw plenty of cereal and a spotless waffle maker. Either of those would have suited me. On first approach, don't be put off by the large front window full of construction materials. You should not compare this property with Hilton or Marriott, else you will be disappointed. But you are paying $300 a night, either just for a place to rest or sleep and shower. In the end, it is what you are comfortable with and what you are willing to pay for. I will definitely return for another stay.

Ok if all you need is a place to sleep

Not a bad place, but not a great one either. It's nice that it's central and walkable to Warren Street and has off-street parking. The room itself was clean and in good shape. The hotel building itself and grounds are in need of upkeep and renovation. Biggest letdown was the advertised breakfast. There was stale cereal, yogurt, and a non-functional waffle maker. That's it. The "coffee" was cold sludge at 8am and there were no employees to be found to make a fresh pot and refill it. Front desk was vacant at check out, just dropped the room keys at the front desk and left.

Room had a strange odor, bathroom was very new and very clean, staff was friendly, although mostly invisible. Property is “undergoing renovation,” but it just seems on the shabby side. For the location, and for the price, it was fine. Don’t expect too much, everything you might need.
