The staff were great but the facilities were lacking. Drop ceilings pushes in, mis matched light defusers in the rooms over head lights. A single out lit in the room, an extension cord ran around the room nailed into the base boards. The pool area and restaurant were nice

The free breakfast was not free--the chair in our room needed to go to a dump--the breakfast was less than adequate no butter for toast-- would have been nice to at least have some hard boiled eggs or guest operated waffle maker---spa services were unavailable--the floor was dirty in our room--no facecloth---sorry for the rant---i have never written a bad review for any place we have strayed---THIS IS A RESORT AND IS HELD TO A HIGHER STANDARD

Needs an update and maintenance

When we arrived our first room had no heat. The maintenance man offered us a space heater. We said we would prefer to move. The young lady at the front desk was very kind and accommodating and moved us to another room. In that room. The heater worked but it was very very noisy. Kept us awake most of the night but we were awakened at 1:45 a.m. by the fire alarm. We had to get up, get dressed and go outside in the 4° weather and wait for the fire department. No explanation was given from the person on the front desk during the night. We walked past him on our way out of the front doors and he didn't even acknowledge us. Finally got back in and to bed. In the morning when we were checking out we asked at the front desk what the issue was. The girl shrugged and said Ishe thought it was a faulty alarm. What? We should get some sort of compensation for this. We were all awakened by a faulty alarm? Out in the cold for half an hour in the middle of the night? And no apology or anything from the resort. Very, very disappointed.

The staff were very helpful but you hear everything; slamming doors, normal hall and adjacent room conversations. Exterior door to guest room hall is not locked, leaving us with a justifiable feeling of insecurity. Good point is EV charging is available, but could use two more units.

I just have to mention the lack of upkeep. I feel like this place could be amazing. I was only there for one night in October. Off time I'm aware. I've been to better upkept holiday inns. From the wobbly toilet, peeling caulking in the shower, rough paint job on the door. Little things that go a long way. The hallways felt like I was in the staff back corridors. Cold and unwelcoming. The floor around the indoor pool needs attention. As well as the concrete in the tennis/ basketball courts. When you think Muskoka lakeside resort that's not it. Makes me sad to see it falling apart. And then to charge a resort fee. At least at a Holiday Inn I'd get a Continental breakfast. I hate leaving negative reviews I only wish to see it doing better in the future.

We were very disappointed in the condition of the resort. It definitely needs a major refurbishment. The hallway ceiling tiles are a mess, the bathrooms had things on the wall that had been removed, and the old holes were never covered up. There were huge stains on the ceiling in our room. That being said, the staff were great. The restaurant was severely unstaffed, but the staff they had were very pleasant and accommodating. The pool and hot tub were warm and clean. The property is showing its age outside as well, but it is a beautiful location.

Property was very tired. Check-in was poor with room still dirty when we got into it. Had to be changed to another room then key wouldn’t work. Third try worked. Bar was not staffed for afternoon drinks. Had to leave and go to another facility. Would not choose again for the price

It was bad experience, kids and adults , could not sleep due to your wedding events last night. Even after your last communication at 12:30am, there was so much noise until 3am. Due to which kids were sleepy in the morning and had to cancel today planned trip to Algonquin park. We planned this trip to enjoy activities in Algonquin only. But now it seems we need to visit again on some other weekend.
