Rooms are large and clean. Beds are comfortable. Yes, this property is in dire need of updating and maintenance, but it has a nice beach. No one uses the outdoor pool (it's cold) so you can have it all to yourself. We had good weather so it was a decent stay. The tennis courts are in ok shape. A bit concerned about the water sports offered. Pedal boats are broken; kayaks have missing seat supports and you sign your life away to use them. They supply life jackets but do NOT have mandatory safety kits. Good place for kids...you get what you pay for!

I visited and stayed at the Hidden Valley Resort with family for one night in August. I had booked a beach facing view room but was informed by the resort staff during checkin that the requested room was not available and they offered me a parking facing room. The property was fully booked for the weekend and they were unable to accommodate. I was advised to speak to Expedia about the issue and claim any reimbursement if any. I did speak to an Expedia agent post my trip and was suitably reimbursed. Con: There is no elevator(Lift) at the property. We were located on floor 3 and had to carry heavy luggage through stairs which was inconvenience. Room and property was clean. The room features a refrigerator and coffee machine. There is no microwave in the room but there is one publicly available on the ground floor (Floor 2) for use. Con: Washroom was out of liquid soap. On calling front desk, was advised to get soap bars as lately they were out of liquid soap. Pro: We requested a pack and play for our toddler late at night and we were duly obliged. Con: check in involved 15 min wait time as the property was fully booked and there was one person at concierge desk. Parking is free and plenty slots available on site. Price wise, the resort was okay, could have been more economical. Food and drinks could have been more reasonably priced especially for guests starting at the hotel.

The housekeeping for the rooms was great. The rest of the property was sad and in need of repairs. One person on the front desk in busy season made for a 55 minute check in. The staff was lovely but there weren’t enough of them. Had to move rooms because my window was broken and couldn’t be fixed. Expensive for subpar experience.

My experience was not good. Staff at the hotel were dishonest when I asked about why the indoor pool was closed. Each person at the front desk will give a different answer. My room the floor wasn't cleanned and moped when I could feel things when I was walking on the floor. The bathtub the paint was all off. There was no had sop. I don’t think is worth the price I paied. I will never go there. I will choose a different hotel or resort to stay. I rather pay more somewhere else where I can create a memory vs disappointment and dishonest staff.

the indoor pool and sauna need to be cleaned more often, there should be an area designated for outside shoes so people don't come around the sauna and pool with outside shoes, the hotel needs renovation as the walls are very thin and I could even hear the snoring of another guest in the room beside us, the doors do not close easily, the hallway carpet needs to be changed it does not look like anybody vacuums that and even if they do it is not clean, rooms and bathroom and towels were very clean though, public areas are not that clean, restaurants food is good and servers are nice, access to the beach is great but the use of paper dishes and cups is very cheap and poor looking for a resort that charges you a resort fee of $30/night.

Property needs to undergo extensive renovations. The carpets are completely musty and revolting. There isnt enough staff. We never ate on site due to the condition of the property - we could only imagine the nightmare in the kitchen. Location is good.

So much to do with the kids. The fire in the evening was wonderful- we met lots of people there. The room was good. The bathroom was a bit cramped and the door wouldn't open all the way. Dined in the restaurant- good food, excellent service. We dined inside. Outside on the patio there was a group who had 2 dogs with them at their table. If they had dined inside I would have been upset. I have a diabled granddaughter and she would have had a hard time getting down to the waterfront area. There is no elevator in the main building so she would have had to crawl down the stairs to the pool. NevertheIess, I would definitely recommend Hidden Valley resort to most family and friends.

The hotel needs a huge upgrade for the price we paid. We were going stay 2 nights but only stayed 1 night due to noise from adjacent room. We did advise the front desk And they did advise the adjacent room to keep quiet but they did not.As indicated by the front desk , the following day,that all rooms have adjacent rooms and though they do have doors in between, there is no noise barrier between the doors. Also there a huge gap under the main door which allows noise and light in from the hallway. Also the indoor pool was not available due to a maintenance issue. We will never, never stay at this hotel again.

We have been visiting this property for many years and it is sad to see it in disrepair. The steps leading down to the grounds were badly peeling, in need of a simple paint job. The tennis courts continue to decay, year by year. Such a shame for a resort so nicely situated on Penn Lake, with beach access. A little pride of ownership and management would go a long way.
