We stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Huntsville most years before we head out on a canoe trip in Algonquin. It is clean and very convenient with restaurants and shopping nearby as we take care of any last minute needs. The staff are excellent.

I've stayed at this location many times and only had trouble this last time. I was given a room that seemed to be in the middle of some renovations or at least needed some sprucing up. Pieces of wall exposed after wall paper had been removed in bathroom and in bedroom. I overlooked this as I had been camping and the room was clean if a little tired. The room I had was a barrier free room and after taking a shower, I realized that a whole bunch of water had gotten by the curtain and simply drained out into the main bathroom/toilet area as there was no barrier to keep water from running out of the shower. I can't imagine that this was the first time this has happened. There was no drain in the main area of the bathroom. Added to the tired looking room and the trouble of having a minor flood was too much. I asked to be moved to another room and although I was given another key to a room next door, the service at the front desk was tepid at best. Guy at front desk didn't blink or offer to have someone help me to relocate. He really didn't seem to care much at all. On a positive note, the staff at breakfast were welcoming and chipper as usual, which was much appreciated.

The continental breakfast was very disappointing. Had to leave to go eat breakfast somewhere else. The hotel room was clean and staff were friendly. Was in a great location. Walking distance to a variety of places.

Nice quiet place. Everything is within a few minutes drive. Good location. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. The only thing was they were short staffed during our stay, and we didn't have housekeeping for the 3 nights we stayed which is not a big deal for us.
