Poor airport shuttle service
The hotel was excellent. The room comfortable. It is right next to the airport and our room faced the runways. We needed to put on white noice to cover the planes landing and taking off. The airport shuttle was not well organized. We waited over an hour at the airport to be picked up. Other hotel shuttles made three rounds before Hyatt Place made one. On the trip back to the airport we sat on the shuttle for 20 minutes while the driver chatted with a friend. We had to call the front desk on both trips to get the driver moving. The shuttle picks and drops off in an alley behind the hotel and this seems like an out of sight out of mind place for the drivers to chat instead of transporting guests. Other than the airport shuttle (which was vital for us) the hotel was top shelf.

I chose the hotel because itvhad 3pm check in and noon check out. Unfortunately this changed at some.poi t but hotel only notified with confirmation on day of arrival. Poor check in experience as another was allowed to push in front of me on the basis they had entered the building before. The pre auth of $150 per night... so $600 for 1 person... more than the total value of stay (already prepaid) is totally excessive. On one day my room was not serviced and then they tried to charged for 2 x $5 bottles of water. No water was present in the room on arrival although inf the final day they replenished it and tried to charge me. I had to argue to get these removed. There is a water cooler in reception. The room was clean and reccently redecorated. Areas such as corrdiors were often dirty with rubbish on the floor some of which was still there on subsequent days. Breakfast was OK but the warm items were generally stome cold, despite being in high quality dishes to keep warm. Bagels were rock hard before toasting. Breakfast finished at 9.30 but they start clearing away before that. At 9.25 i whikst picking an item i was shut in the area where the buffet is, despite it being obvios i was there the staff memebr closed both doors to prevent anyone else entering - zero customer focus.

Suitable for quick trips as it is near LAX. There's a shuttle from LAX but where the shuttle stop is difficult to find and there is no set time when to expect the shuttle to arrive. Despite following instructions provided, we ended up taking the wrong shuttle to another Hyatt which wasn't connected to the Hyatt House. We ended up walking from the wrong hotel, about a 10 min walk, instead of going back to the airport and going through the hassle of searching for the right shuttle. The property was ok. Check-in was simple, and the front desk was very nice and helpful. Although curious that they only asked to check one ID, meaning they had no record of my partner staying there at all. Could that not become a problem, security-wise? Our room was standard. The TV didn't work but an engr arrived within 30 min to fix it. The BR was clean, although the showerhead was weird and didn't have good pressure. There's a pool and a gym which we explored but did not use. Breakfast was ok. The worst was the shuttle back to LAX. The waiting area is outside by the dumpsters. We waited next to a door near the garage of an adjacent property. When the shuttle arrived, the driver accused me and my partner of trying to sneak on the shuttle as he assumed we didn't stay at the Hyatt House. He didn't speak English, was argumentative and kept telling us to go to another location. My partner refused and loaded our bags anyway. Other passengers boarded, and driver didn't even ask where people were going.

The room itself was very nice, but this hotel does not allow you to adjust the temperature. We called some to the room to adjust it and he said it would get much warmer but it never got above 68 degrees. We’ve stayed here several times and had the same problem. Won’t be staying here again.
