Not a Great Experience

Unfortunately, we had to leave this hotel a few hours after arriving. The pool area is really nice and the person who check us in (Jill) was lovely, but the room was dirty, in disrepair and there was mold. It also smelled strongly of mold so I did not feel it was safe to sleep there, especially with my kids. :( Other than the pool, the pictures on the website do not seem to be up-to-date with current state. Thankfully, hotels.com got involved and the manager did not us for 3 nights. I am only leaving this review because I don't want others to experience what we did.
This was on a wall and not a ceiling. Easily reachable.

The hotel is on the main road, very close to IUP.(less than 5 minutes away). Nice and quiet, rooms are clean, and the front desk was very friendly.

The staff was very helpful and nice. The room was an ok size. The hotel overall was ok. There was an issue with one of the hallways in the hotel where as the heat was blasting in the middle sof the summer which made it extremely hot to walk thru the hallway. The pool area was nice and spacious. The bar area and dining area closed way too soon. There were very limited options for food or drinks after 9pm in the area.

We have stayed at this property before, last time we were in the courtyard and all was fine. This stay was completely different. Our rooms were located on the second floor at the end of building and the conditions drastically reduced. We were not notified that this side of building was having issues. The hall itself was extremely hot due to no proper ventilation for the rooms air conditioning units to exhaust. One of our rooms the lock on the door was weak and could be pushed open. Had we been made aware I could’ve been more at ease or asked to be switched. It was disappointing. However, like I said if you stay right in the courtyard all is good. It was like 2 hotels in one.

This is my second stay within two months, this time they had live band, bar and grill. Food and music was great. Lisa was amazing! When I was there even after.. I left my bag there and was half way home. To Philly, when we realized. I called the hotel and Lisa made sure that I was able to get my belongings shipped to my house... Every effort she made and succeeded. I appreciate her!

Landscaping and hotel needs attention. The hvac system in the back hall where my room was , was not operating blowing hot suffocating air. Room ac was working fine. Hotel hallways dirty. Room and furniture was not in clean condition. Lobby and pool area appeared well kept. Live band at the restaurant was nice.

First impression when entering the parking lot was very outdated and pictures used had to be from years ago and it didn't get much better from there. Room had a horrific oder. We were moved and the next room had a strong smell of gasoline. We left within 30 minutes. Another person complained about their drain and was told maintenance isn't here will have to wait until tomorrow. Only three hotels had availability and I see why this was one of them.

Terrible!

Check in was not good. Someone else was in our room because they mixed up names. Room was musty, filthy, toilet was not clean, old food on floor. Stained bedding. And best of all cockroaches in the coffee maker. We checked out early.

Don’t stay here!

The guests that I booked the room for state that they walked inside and were assaulted by the horrible sites, pungent smell, and lack of service. They went into the room and immediately walked out, finding the room, hotel lobby, and common areas to be extremely unacceptable. They refused to sit on any furniture and wanted to leave as soon as possible. They felt it was a safety and cleanliness concern to be in the facility. It took them a longer than it should to check out, due to the front desk clerk being outside on a smoking break for two hours. She conveniently left the hotel phone off the hook on the counter. My guests also said that they had never smelled the “combination of mold, mildew, stale cigarettes and cat pee,” before. The photos apparently also don’t do it justice. All of the windows and doors in the building were left open 24/7 due the extreme heat in the hallways. They said it was 100 degrees easily in the building, due to faulty air conditioning. Also, the pool is located in the middle of the lobby indoors to a lovely carpeted surrounding that absolutely reeked of mold. They left and chose a Hilton instead. TLDR: if you do not want to sleep in a sweaty sauna that smells like a ungodly molded litter box and ashtray combination and hasn’t been cleaned since 1990, here is NOT where you want to be.

I believe because it was hot entrances were open, little bugs keep appearing in the room. Flies were flying in my room you kill it the next minute another comes in. The staff on duty was nice, when I asked for a change to my original room, I went up and the heat in the corridor was very high which make it feel like you are burning so I decided to just stay in the one downstairs because the corridors downstairs was ok but the room was not good. Bed was comfortable. I had no appetite due to the are not been clean so I didn’t even make an attempt to try breakfast. Receptionist was very nice I must say.
