Disappointed in Drury

This could possibly be the worst hotel experience I've ever had. I thought Drury Inn was more of an upscale hotel chain, but man this location was bad. First of all, the service was great. Quick check-in, nice people who were accommodating of our issues. Problem 1- one of our five rooms hadn't been cleaned or beds made. We checked in at 5pm, two hours after the normal start. Problem 2- another of our rooms reeked of mold (the front desk did get us another room) Problem 3- one of the two elevators was out, which I don't necessarily blame the hotel for but I heard someone comment that it has been out for awhile. On a very busy night for the hotel, it took forever to use the elevator. Problem 4- the eating area floor for breakfast hadn't been cleaned. Food on the floor, crushed pretzels, etc. Redeeming quality... one of the best hotel breakfasts I've been to. I've always thought Drury Inn was priced too high for me to stay at and if this is the quality that is expected, I'll never book another stay at one.

Only one elevator working. I had come to town it was an hour drive as I had surgery the next morning at Community North hospital in Indianapolis Indiana. It was taken at least a 20 minute wait for the elevator. It was spring break so a bunch of kids. We were room 413 right off the elevator & loud ALL night long. It would have been nice if someone from the Drury Inn had called or texted to tell me only one elevator. I would have changed my reservation. Very upset

Spring break and they had some issues with pop machine and popcorn machine. The lines for beverages at dinner was way too long. The staff did all they could do to keep up but they had several mishaps with a very busy big crowd.

I frequently stay at Drury Inn. I generally love the facilities and amenities. Unfortunately, this particular Drury Inn did not live up to my expectations. This is a large hotel and only ONE elevator worked. When questioned a manager about my concern he said that it had been out since JANUARY! He told me corporate knows and has not fixed it as of yet. Then walked away. Due to the constant congestion in the area of the elevators, I'm sure he has heard his share of complaints. I booked a room for three nights and was staying on the third floor with two small grandchildren and a large stroller. I had to attempt getting the children and stroller up and down the stairwell when we wanted to leave. Needless to say this place was a nightmare for us. I doubt I will use Expedia or affiliates to book again, because I want to speak to a manager at specific motels to make positive all facilities are in working order before booking. Expedia did not help reimburse me or "make things right" and the reward program is a joke. I will use the app for customer reviews before booking directly.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and nicely decorated. Towels were clean and nice. Breakfast had lots of options. The hotel was crowded this day, but the staff was doing a good job to keep food items stocked. It was obvious the hotel had extra staff to deal with the crowd. One of two elevators was down. It was somewhat inconvenient, but not bad.

The only negative experience was that the elevator was broken, leaving only one elevator. The pool was extremely packed due to spring break, but that can't be helped. It was a nice experience for the most part. The food was really good too!
