Solid hotel in a good location in central Invercargill. Nice room and staff was friendly/helpful. Parking is offsite, but only a block away.

The hotel looks great from outside(as pictures show), but actually inside the building was old and tired. Our room had very old carpet and everything was old. The walls were thin and we heard people talking from the next room. It seemed that the management had decided to invest in making them look good rather than giving comfort to their guests. We were disappointed. Their sports bar's food was great.

The bed was super comfy and big, staff were lovely and the whole hotel was really clean. I would've rated it higher had there been air conditioning in our room, a better breakfast menu (2 items on menu) that wasn't so expensive and if the shower had better water pressure. But overall it was a pleasant stay

Lovely four nights at the Kelvin, room perfectly adequate for me and good to find accommodation which is not hugely expensive. The only complaint I would note is that people seem to think it ok to slam doors! Otherwise all good and I would stay there again.

Check in was easy but very rushed. The bathroom in our space was not well cleaned. Halls were cluttered. Hotel was in a walkable area making it convenient.

Enjoyed the convenient central location of the hotel, and our room was very well-appointed with everything we needed. The only downside was the lack of aircon/airflow on a hot night (open windows let in the street noise), and there also seemed to be some piping within the wall that meant we heard loud flushing water during the night which woke us a few times.

Handy location to shops and cafes and ten minute walk to Queens Park. Friendly, helpful staff, easy check-in . Roadworks nearby makes for dusty , noisy experience and difficult vehicle access at the moment.

Good hotel in central Invercargill. Excellent service and a good restaurant and bar. Spacious and comfortable room. Though it can be a bit warm on summer nights with no aircon in the room.
