Very Good

This was the only place we stayed at that had a king sized bed throughout our trip in scotland and because of that actually slept through the night, unlike everywhere else that have twins but we slept soo good that we woke only 15 minutes before checkout and so missed breakfast entirely.
The pub downstairs was a real plus. They serve good beers and good food. The staff are friendly and helpful. But it is on the small side and like all pubs in Scotland fills up quickly so get there early.
We will definitely stay here again on our next trip

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The view of Lochness was very Special. The traditionally oriented decorations are cosy.
Excellent Hotel, direct view to Loch Ness, good price, highly recommended.

While the hotel has some charm, it feels dated and a bit shabby. The room was clean and quite spacious. The hotel is a 45 pound cab ride from Inverness.
Place was run down a bit although room was comfortable. However the service was terrible young people greeting and serving did not know anything from what wines they have to what local whiskey. Not helpful to any questions you asked.
Did not eat here as it was not inviting at all
Thought being in Scotland it would be run by friendly scots who would love to chat and for us to enjoy the local hospitality-that was not the case.
The property is somewhat run down and really isn’t a four star property. It does not compare to the other four star properties In Scotland where I have stayed. It is overpriced, presumably because of its location on Loch Ness.

Liked: Cleanliness
Great location. Food in the restaurant very good.
Decor is tired. Staff a bit scruffy apart from the reception man in a waistcoat. Breakfast was poor. Coffee stewed and lukewarm. Should not have to pay extra when paying the room price charged for cooked breakfast.
Get a room with a view of the lake! We loved ours. A few niceties were missing, such as washcloths and hand soap for the sink, but no biggie. The location is a little out of the way, but we knew that in advance and really enjoyed it. Great beer at the restaurant/bar. Food is very hit and miss. The pizza was positively awful, while the curry was absolutely amazing. The included breakfast is definitely on the lighter side (cereal and toast), but you can pay for something more. Overall we had a great, relaxing stay and were very happy we chose this charming inn.
Friendly, helpful and cheerful staff, old world feel, comffirtable, great food

Disliked: Room comfort
Without a view of the lake, not the greatest
Our room had no views of the lake, and everything was sort of tired. Pillows were lumpy and the mattresses were old and saggy. Not our best night in Scotland. Staff was friendly, but no help offered with luggage as we climbed the stairs.
The hotel turned out to be a saviour as we never intended to be there in the first place. We thought that the Inn was in Inverness not a 45 minute drive. Plus we had no car. A taxi took us there and a bewildered Canadian couple arrived. The staff , the room, the location, were all first rate. Good food, atmospheric pub, lovely hikes, and voila.....a memorable stay.
