We had an absolutely amazing stay at the Mayan Princess. They were able to upgrade our room with my Hotels.com VIP access, our beachfront room with huge terrace was directly in front of the crystal clear blue water with the sound of the waves lulling us to sleep. The food was the best I have had at any all inclusive - the buffet often features stations like made to order ceviche, tartare, pupusas, fresh fish, sushi - and that was before you hit the hot line with absolutely delectable cuisine. The pools were beautiful, the staff super nice and helpful and we cannot wait to return!!!

We ended up being disappointed by the „resort“. First and foremost, customer attention is extremely poor. There was no reception and we had to ask for everything via WhatsApp. It felt like we had to beg for many things, we had to write every day that we want our room cleaned and towels changed, or else they would not do it. We also had to ask for beach towels as they were not provided. The wifi was not working well in the room and the AC was making heavy noises and was dripping. They claim that they would always bring you to the beach with a golf cart, however we ended up walking there most of the time as we didn’t see any staff to bring us. Breakfast tastes good but as a hotel guest your options are strictly limited to the same 3 items on the menu, which after multiple days gets boring. I also had to beg to change the bacon with avocado to have a vegetarian breakfast. It seemed like we were the only guests end of July/beginning of August which added a strange feeling to our stay. The infinity pool was nice, yet small, and the beach was nothing special. The sun beds are old and we were biten heavily by sandflies. As we had to leave early the last day, we asked to get our included breakfast to go, which was declined. The arranged airport shuttle did not show up! Luckily we found someone cleaning in the morning and she called a colleague that took us to the airport while stopping multiple times to pick up other workers. We arrived 25mins later than planned to the airport.
