Overall, this hotel is a great choice for a short 3-4 day trip with friends! Pros: • Friendly and professional staff at restaurants, bars, spa, and front desk • Quality massages and facials at reasonable prices • Convenient excursion bookings (snorkeling, golf cart rentals) • Good food quality, plus occasional beachfront dinner with live music • Two pools: a main pool and a rooftop pool with a bar for sunset views • Comfortable rooms with balconies, USB/outlet options, and coffee machines • Champagne at check-in • Currency exchange available (though small bills depend on availability) • Small lobby store for essentials • 10-15 minutes from ferry, Playa Norte, and shops • Plenty of pool/beach chairs with shade options and towels • Generally quiet throughout the day and night Cons: • 2-2.5 hour travel time from airport due to island location • Inconsistent WiFi • No fridge or bathtub in rooms • All-inclusive doesn’t include room service, premium drinks, or some dishes • Paper wristbands tear easily and must be replaced if lost (fee applies if you lose the band) • Small resort with limited restaurants, pools, and shopping options • Few planned activities (no exercise classes, games, etc.) • Small beach with seaweed, so most guests swim in the pool or go to Playa Norte • Room keys must be returned or a fee is charged • Must sign receipts for every drink/meal, even at the bar

Good clean hotel with everything you would need. The staff are excellent. Property is far away from the main downtown area. You would need a golf cart or daily taxi if you wanted to go shopping or to eat out.

Everything was amazing! The food ordered at the pool would take 2-4 hours to get was the only downside. Rent a good car and go to the Mia bridge for the best beach. Ronadli best restaurant on north side and Limon is amazing and it so close to izla

Check in is at 3pm. I emailed ahead of time that I would be arriving closer to 12:30 & asked if this would be a problem. The reply I received said the room may not be ready but we could access pools and restaurants. Upon arrival, they said we could use the pools but would have to pay for food and drinks until 3:00. I asked for a manager, showed her my email reply, & she said she would allow it to start at 2:00pm. So we sat in the heat, waiting for an hour to order food. Once ordered, it didn’t arrive until after 3:30 & my following up 3 times. Service was SLOW at every location with the staff not acknowledging you for large portions of time. They would answer the phone & ignore the line in front of them. Once when I was next in line to be seated, the hostess began building menus & didn’t acknowledge me or the line forming behind me. This was during the buffet breakfast (no menus needed). Restaurant would open late & staff not be in place daily. Roof top bar would open a hour and a half late. I made reservations at one restaurant & they were written down on a spiral. When we arrived later, they said we’d not made them. I contacted Expedia for assistance and the hotel offered a late checkout. That wasn’t possible as we had to leave to catch a flight. I’ve been to this area more than 30 times. I’ve never left a bad review before. This is the only resort I’ve visited that I would NEVER recommend. Typically this area is known for great customer service. Avoid.

The rooms smell damp all the time, the air conditioning cannot be regulated and especially in the early morning, it is hot. The staff is very friendly and polite, but they are a bit slow in service.

Our stay at Izla was great! the place is beautiful!! We got the all incluisive , theres a couple of dishes like steaks that arent included but their food didnt dissapoint. The best part was the service! Everyone was GREAT! From the front door, the servers at the restaurants, the bartender at the pool was amazing! I would totally recommend it! It was a bit far from the main street on the island but a short taxi ride was always available.

The food was fine, the service was okay, but nothing was really "excellent". The hotel did not offer any entertainment beyond a DJ or band at dinner, nothing during the day. The menu was the same most days and the all-inclusive menu did not include any fine cuts of meat or even a hamburger. Our trip was enjoyable, but nothing stands out as a reason to return.

Izla Hotel was a wonderful stay for my family and I. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and the beach front view from the island was top notch! Would recommend going!
