Cheeca Lodge & Spa offers 243 accommodations with safes and coffee/tea makers. Rooms open to balconies. Beds feature premium bedding. 47-inch LED televisions come with premium cable channels.

Bathrooms include bathrobes, slippers, designer toiletries, and complimentary toiletries. Business-friendly amenities include desks and phones; free local calls are provided (restrictions may apply). Additionally, rooms include hair dryers and irons/ironing boards. In-room massages and hypo-allergenic bedding can be requested. Lots to like- especially the friendly staff. Grounds kept clean but par 3 golf course in pretty rough shape. Boats are definitely well used. Restaurant is nice but expensive as are the $20 drinks. We stayed 11 days and must have had 10 different next door neighbors who were quite loud for the most part and could be heard clearly through the lock-out door. Had to call security once. Cable tv signal worked less than half the time. Dishwasher fell over (not attached). Nice pools and tennis courts. Overall 3.5 star experience.

Underwhelming

For such a highly rated resort, even recently as Readers’ Choice in Conde Nast, it was completely underwhelming. The buildings are old and tired, the beachfront quite short, and service fell short, and food was just meh. My room was in need of renovation, especially the bathroom. And the screened-in porch on the balcony was so dirty and bug-filled that sitting outside was not pleasant. As well, the roosters in the vicinity start crowing at 230 am so count on sleep. With the expensive resort fees and taxes, the most basic room is well over $550/night. It simply wasn’t worth it.

High-end resort with beautiful facilities but the restaurant wasn’t to the same standard. I thought the food was expensive and came out cold. The side order of mushrooms came out on a stone cold skillet, you could hold the skillet with your hand. The special that night I order was the seabass and risotto which was lukewarm. The restaurant wasn’t that busy so not sure how they let my food get cold. On a better note the king suit was amazing, so spacious and bathroom huge. The checkin staff were super kind, especially the one who checked us in was so helpful. We had forgotten our complementary cocktails vouchers, which she came to deliver to us by had at our room.

It was a nice stay overall. The adult pool was a nice feature. For the price, the room felt a bit dated and worn (not worth the price). The room didn't have water bottles that I remember, and we had to pay for coffee in the morning. The restaurant didn't have a lot of options, so we ate out. Overall, it was nothing spectacular or worth the money.

Check-in procedures are slow and although most were being offered sparkling wine, we were not. Additional, our room was not ready at the allotted check-in time. No explanation or retribution was offered. Skip the Asian restaurant upstairs. The sushi was horrible and the staff unfriendly and hurried. Despite the negative, the property is beautifully kept and the ambiance is wonderful. The spa was great! Both my husband and I thought highly of our massage therapists. Parking is easy if you choose not to use valet. We would stay again with a few changes.
