Islander Resort offers 114 accommodations, which are accessible via exterior corridors and feature iPod docking stations and MP3 docking stations. Rooms open to lanais. The staff was above and beyond! Upon finding it was my husband’s 70th birthday and all of his girls were flying in to surprise him they could not have been more accommodating! The property is beautifully landscaped with many thoughtful sitting areas to read a book or simply enjoy the surroundings. The room had a warm, tropical and very inviting feel not to mention a spacious outdoor patio. I will undoubtedly book again next year!

Beautiful resort

This is a beautiful property. I loved the pools, the chairs by the ocean, large room, friendly staff especially the lady at the pool towel hut. Wish I would have caught her name so I could call her out because she was an encourager. She found something positive to say about everyone. Now for the not so good. We had to have an access code for the tv, I called front desk soon after check in and asked for the code, she told me she would have to send maintenance to our room. Maintenance never came and we stayed two nights and paid quite a bit for our partial ocean view room. At check in they gave me two tokens for free drinks at Tides. We went to Tides and requested a virgin strawberry daiquiri and a pina colada. We were told we could only get free drinks with alcohol in them. Really??? We paid for our virgin drinks because we didn’t want the alcohol. That’s not a good way to do business. I told the front desk about this when I checked out and she agreed with me however, she didn’t take the price of the two drinks off our bill. Other than these two issues, I would say this place is perfect.

Best 5 star resort in Florida keys, from the rooms, pools, beach area and staff. The staff at the hotel were so friendly, helpful and generous. A kind member of staff gave us an extra 25 cent for the laundry after helping to explain how it works. The rooms had modern facilities but the beautiful layout was classical beach house designed to make you feel completely relaxed. The pools were all heated/temperature controlled, so even if it was slight cold outside you can still enjoy a swim. Out of all the hotels I visited in the keys (6) this was the best!
