The staff was absolutely amazing. They upgraded our room to one of the cottages on the beach and were super prompt about getting us more towels for our room when we asked. Unfortunately the pool had giant chunks of the floor missing, lots of tiles missing on the deck and a ton of sand on the floor of the pool. La Siesta also does not have a liquor license so we were not able to purchase beers or any liquor based drinks like we were at their sister resort Amara Kay. We were told about breakfast one night while get the key lime pie pops (highly recommend). The breakfast was really great but we were not told that is was going to be added to our rooms which was disappointing to find out when we checked out. La Siesta has the potential to be really great but some transparency on prices and up keep on the amenities need some work.

Pool had black algae. Food price was expensive for the quality and presentation. The room was in bad shape; the closet door was broken. Shampoo and handwash were watered down, and the mattress was expired. Sixty USD per day was charged as resort fees, disclosed at the end of the stay, when normally you pay that upfront. I really don't know what a 4-star hotel like this would differentiate from a regular motel.
