Disappointed- A Poor Experience
We had stayed in this hotel last year and my stay was lovely and due to that I decided to return this year in May.
Our bathroom had a constant smell of strong sewage. It got so bad within a few days that the smell travelled into the bedroom. I ended up having to go downstairs to use their toilets on the floor where the gym was located
Extremely disappointed with this experience. I did raise this with the staff who are generally lovely and helpful but they couldn’t do anything and there justification was the following:
FER is located in one of Istanbul’s most historic districts, where certain infrastructure-related issues—particularly involving the older sewage systems—may occasionally affect even modern establishments like ours, especially under certain weather conditions. Nevertheless, we take full responsibility for your discomfort and regret that we were not able to meet your expectations on this occasion.
I did email the General Manager to escalate my complaint but she hasn’t bothered to reply even though I sent another email requesting that she kindly replies to my email!
Such a shame as this hotel is in a great location.
