My stay at this hotel was a terrible experience from start to finish. The receptionist was rude and unhelpful, setting a poor tone from the beginning. I had to switch rooms twice due to the first two being infested with flies, and while the third room had fewer flies, it was still unacceptable. To make matters worse, the entrance to the back 'new' building had an overpowering stench, reminiscent of dead animals, which was both unsettling and disgusting. The only positive aspects of my stay were the bellboy and housekeeping staff, who were friendly and professional. Unfortunately, their kindness couldn't make up for the numerous issues. I would never stay here again.

Very professional, friendly, well groomed staf. Excellent room service. Excellent location with easy access to metro or just a short relaxing walk to the core of activities. Very good and complete breakfast options. Highly recommend this hotel and will be back here on my next trip.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Istanbul Golden City Hotel. They free upgraded our room with Bosphorus sea view on a higher floor because it was my birthday! The breakfast option was marvelous at the rooftop Restaurant. Enjoyed the magnificent city view with morning coffee. Only critic would be we saw someone ordered omelet for breakfast but when we asked for it they said it would be extra charge. The hot breakfast was included in our stay so that was a tad confusing.

We had a great time. There were details that could use some improvement (the room cleaning was just good enough, the sink was slow to drain). The breakfast buffet was good. The location was perfect! The staff were helpful and nice. Overall very satisfied and would return.

It is a very decent hotel, for the price we paid, and the convenience of the location it was good. The minibar fridge in our room didnt work and when reported to the front desk it still wasnt sorted out other than that it was a very decent hotel. You get what you pay for.

Too much attitudes from morning shift front desk.
The hotel was in a noisy place. You could hear the noise from driving cars and people on the streets. It was the first hotel that asking me back for the key card. I asked for 2 card. The front desk guy was questioning me why. Same with my other groups of family. He had a lot of attitudes toward the customers. He was trying to prove him selves that he has right to argue why and reasoning. Also, when I was inside the elevator the lights turned off and I had to go one floor at the time. Freaked out. Only fits 2 person or one person with one luggage. There is parking with pay extras but very nice guy. I asked for Iron. They did not tell me for how long. They entered my room and picked it up while I was not there and I put a sign do not enter. When I came back I was looking for it. The night shift guy was extremely nice and understandable and very friendly.

We paid for a room with a view of the Mosques and the Golden Horn, however the windows providing those views had bird crap on them. The Manager said he could do nothing about it. The lifts in the hotel can only fit two people, which was an annoyance during busy periods. If you can avoid it, do not take a taxi arranged by the hotel. They will quote you one price and at the end of the journey, you will pay more. I think the hotel staff are in league with the taxi drivers and get a percentage of the taxi fare.
