The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly. The breakfast was very good as were many of the restaurants nearby. It is walking distance to many sights, Blue Mosque, Topkapi castle, spice market and several other small markets.

Great location with walking distance to Blue Mosque and other sites. Lots of restaurants and shopping close by. The only negative is it’s a very busy noisy street so hard to sleep as hotel is above the restaurant. Restaurant was fantastic

Staff were super accommodating from the moment we booked our stay. They almost immediately reached out to let us know they could help arrange airport transfers(for a reasonable cost) as well as help with any kind of tour bookings or excursions. They were very welcoming and knowledgeable of the area. Location was perfecr, lots of historical sights nearby and lots of late night food and drink options. Our group had such a good experience, and I can't emphasize enough how accommodating the staff were. They definitely showed us the true definition of Turkish hospitality even before our stay. Id also like to ad that some of the Tout's in the area can be VERY pushy(this is to be expected if you want to stay within close proximity to the historical sites), but the area in front of the hotel and attached restaraunt youll have breakfast at are a hassle free zone, and they make a point of enforcing it. They offer hookah as well. We had an early morning flight(before restaraunt opened), and the kind gentleman at the front desk even made sure we had sandwhiches to go since we'd be missing the complimentary breakfast when we got on our shuttle to the airport Overall, finding this place was such a blessing for us. We booked last minute after canceling our reservation at ciragan palace due to some last minute emergency vet bills and life events, and the location, service, and price really couldnt be beat.

The property was close to attractions and shops, roads were cobbly. Bed was comfy, there was a toilet but you could see into side , curtains might have been more better and discrete. A lovely spacious room with air conditioning.

Service here is exceptional! Breakfast is great. Hardwood floor had gaps where dirt collects. I recommend replacing floors. Baseboards are filthy. Bathroom was clean. Bedding was clean with exception of spread which we took off the bed and put in closet. All in all it was great for the value.

We loved the staff. Ishmael and the other managers bent over backwards to make us comfortable. They were so friendly and helpful. Recommended and organized a sunset cruise around the Bosphorus for $20 euro each. Fabulous. The next day we had a private tour with Sait who was so terrific. $100 euro each. We had vip entrance to the underground cistern system which was unbelievable. Also Hagia Sophia and blue mosque, spice market, metro system and a first class authentic lunch in the old city. We picked this hotel by chance and were so very very pleased. Highly recommend.

Lovely hotel centrally located. Very clean and staff friendly and helpful. Bed was hard. Balcony had dead pot plants and was very dirty. Loud music playing 3 doors down to 1pm each night. Had to sleep with a pillow over my ear to block out the noise.

Solid Stay at Senatus

We had a good stay at the Senatus hotel, very close (5-7 min walk) to the main historic sites like Haga Sophia, Blue Mosque, and the Topkapi palace. We felt welcomed and the staff were friendly and suggested tours to us when we asked. The breakfast varied a bit each day and was good. We had the deluxe room with balcony and enjoyed the view, with a small view of the haga Sophia over the side. The one downside of the room was that it smelled a bit funny and we aired it out at the end of the day, but I think it was because of the pipes and likely something not easily fixed. A few things to note: it was a bit loud at night with the bars and restaurants, so we were happy we had a sound machine. There is also a lot of hassling that the nearby restaurants do as you walk by, but luckily not the hotel restaurant. It is about a 20-25 min walk from the ferry and the Galata bridge, and if I had to go again I’d do a hotel a little more in between the main sites and the Galata bridge area. It is an uphill walk to the main areas and coming back from Galata area, so may be challenging for those with accessibility needs. I’d give this hotel an overall good rating, and I appreciate staying at smaller places that aren’t chains to support local. Its no frills and won’t suit fancier travelers, but for us semi-budget travelers it worked well.
