We found Union Port Hotel perfect for our needs. We arrived Istanbul a day before boarding our cruise ship. This hotel is located walking distance to cruise port though recommend a cab as it would be difficult to pull luggage even the relatively short distance. Union Port is a small boutique hotel (and coffee shop) with an exceptionally friendly staff. We requested that they organize transportation from Istanbul airport to hotel for 4 persons and lots of luggage. No problem. Our flight was a couple hours late arriving and that was not a problem. They were already aware of the delay when I texted. Upon arrival, we were met by Sam (I’m sure I’m spelling this wrong, sorry) who immediately helped the driver offload all our luggage and delivered to our respective rooms. And, he offered us Turkish coffee or water as we relaxed in the small but comfortable lobby area while checking in. The Turkish coffee is really good for you strong coffee drinkers. Sam shared information about the area and even walked with us to a restaurant a couple blocks away for a late dinner. He pointed out a bakery on the way for a good breakfast which we visited the next morning. And it indeed was good. Oh, we had forgotten to pack our European to US electrical adaptors. No problem, Sam loaned us a couple for the stay. In summary, the Union Port Hotel was perfect for our needs and Sam was as friendly and accommodating as one could wish making us feel safe and comfortable. From Castle Rock, CO

Check in was smooth and we received excellent hospitality. Over glasses of lemonade, our host asked us questions, looked at maps on our phones, and advised us on the best way to get to places. The room, although small, was well appointed, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel was at the top of a hill, and our bags were wheeled up the hill and back down when we left. It was such a pleasant experience. The area around the hotel has construction materials and graffiti, but once inside it is welcoming and friendly. Very nice stay.

We had a wonderful and enjoyable stay at Union Hotel. The entire staff are very friendly, helpful, and respectful of their guests. The room is clean and equipped with all the necessary facilities. The hotel is center for the tram and train station to the main city and attracts. I highly recommend this hotel and I will definitely come back here on my next trip.

The Union Port Hotel and the wonderful staff was definitely a highlight of my trip. From the second we entered Sam, Mariam and the whole staff treated us to the best hospitality and helped us every step of the way. From serving us tea while we checked in, giving us a tour of the adorable neighbourhood cats, sharing their favourite spots and even guiding us to the train station so we wouldn't get lost the entire team at the hotel shaped our trip for the better. I would recommend this place to any of my friends or family who want to visit Istanbul for its amazing location and even better team. The location is ideal as it is right next to the tram which leads to the Hagia Sophia, galata tower and it is right near the ferry port making accessing any part of the city an ease.

We checked in on July 16, They gave us a room on the 7th floor with a very bad air-conditioned and since it is the last floor it was like a sauna. Abive that the kitchen hood noise as if it is inside the room. next day early morning there was a construction beside the hotel, very loud noise that we couldnt sleep. We asked to speek to the manager but the manager wasn't available in the Hotel. We booked another hotel and moved, we asked again the manager to give us a compensation foe the remaining nights, but the manager wasn't on duty. it was a very bad experience and do not recomend. one good thing about the Hotel is one of the staff, SAM, he was very helpfull and always did his best to make things better, but thr manager was like a ghost he did not bither himself to find a solution for us.

Amazing staff and service. Warmly welcomed in upon arrival and offered drinks while we waited for the room to be ready. Staff would always ask if we needed anything and offer drinks whenever we returned back to the hotel. Conveniently located walking distance to metro and tram station. Very close to a shopping centre with a boardwalk next to the sea. Sam was awesome the entire time we were there. Very friendly and went above and beyond to help us with our requests.

Our stay was amazing. I traveled all around the world & never felt such a welcoming staff. I thank Sam & his team for their warm welcoming and extraordinary kindness. The hotel is pretty good, best location, near Taqsim square & easy access to all transportation , Tram, ferry, buses… etc hotel very clean and all amenities working perfectly. There is no words to express our feelings towards the staff kindness, very helpful & at your service 24/7. Amazing stay
The service was exceptional - when we arrived, Sam and the receptionist were extremely pleasant and offered drinks, and made us feel very welcome. Sam also lent us an Istanbul transport card so we didn’t need to buy one - we could top it up and returned it when we checked out. As the check out date coincided with my birthday, everyone sang a happy birthday (pleasant surprise!) and saw me and my partner off. 10/10 and highly recommend this hotel.

Had a late flight in and the front desk was ready for us upon arrival. Even helped us to our room with our many bags. In the morning after a short rest the front desk staff was able to give us so much information. There was a protest in town so they had a member of staff walk us to the nearest place that was open. He was able to secure us a taxi ride with no problems to our ship. If you’re wanting a friendly helpful place to stay you have found the place.

We really liked the hospitality of Sam and Meryem, a very warm welcome and also the taste of the lemonade that Sam prepares himself with a secret recipe. Great location, easy access even by public transportation. Standard rooms are not big but that’s OK when you really want to enjoy Istanbul outside. I will definitely consider staying here next time I am in Istanbul.

The hotel is located at a very convenient place, making it easy to travel to both Taksim and Sultanahmet. Staff is very friendly and they went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Definitely recommended.
