I recently had a frustrating experience booking through Expedia for Yotel Hotel at Istanbul Airport. The check-in time was set at 6:00 PM and checkout at 9:00 AM, which was extremely inconvenient and added significant costs. This arrangement ended up costing me $150 more per night, for a total of $500 extra. Upon reviewing the pricing, I realized that booking directly with Yotel would have only cost around $350 for the same stay. To make matters worse, when I contacted Expedia to request a price match with Yotel's direct rates, they refused to honor it, despite Yotel's clearly advertised prices. This experience was both disappointing and costly. I would strongly recommend booking directly with the hotel to avoid such issues in the future.

Barebones decent hotel
I recently stayed at YOTEL Istanbul Airport LANDSIDE and had a mixed experience. The hotel's location is superb, conveniently situated within the airport. However, finding it was quite a challenge due to its sister hotel, YOTEL Air, and inaccurate instructions sent via email. This led to a frustrating 30-minute search around the massive Istanbul airport, asking several unhelpful people for directions. Once we finally arrived, the rooms were of decent size but offered minimal refreshments—only drinking water, with no way to make basic hot beverages. This was a bit disappointing. Additionally, the toilet and shower rooms had no locks, which was inconvenient for my family with young kids. We had to notify each other when using these rooms for privacy. The TV in the room was another letdown. It only had one kids' channel, and the rest of the screens displayed hotel information. I tried to connect my phone for screen sharing, but it didn't work, leaving us with limited entertainment options. The most astonishing aspect was the food prices. They were extortionate, to the point of being almost criminal. We opted to dine at the airport eateries instead, which were still pricey but more reasonable compared to YOTEL's food prices. In summary, YOTEL Istanbul Airport LANDSIDE might be suitable for solo travelers or couples looking for a decent place to stay during a long layover. However, for families, the high prices and lack of amenities make it less appropriate.

Place is alright for a quick stopover rest. *Check in was 6pm and check out was 9am. *The bathroom smells like a public one could be due to the fact that the vinyl floor absorbs the moisture when people miss the toilet. *Walls are thin.

Very convenient hotel with decent accommodation. Bathroom was a little dirty. There were pubic hair in the toilet from a prior guess in the toilet seat. If you check in ahead of your time they charge you £20 per hour - first time experiencing that on a hotel.

Convenient but expensive.
We had a late arrival in Istanbul and the long trip into the city was costly and a time consuming. Staying at the Yotel Landside meant no taxi as it is located just outside of the arrivals area. The room was very small and basic but very modern with a good shower and toiletries. Our main complaint is that check out time is 9.00am! You can get a late checkout but this comes with a €20 cost which is on top of an expensive booking.
