4th time staying, the hotel is showing its age but the staff are great and the convenience with immediate accessibility to the beach and restaurants across the street can’t be beat. Only complaint like most Mexican hotels is the buffet, we only had the European plan (breakfast included) and the food was the same for all days of our stay. But service was great

We have stayed here before. The Emporio is a bit dated, but we don't spend much time inside, so don't really care. We chose the breakfast option this trip and it was fine. Cheaper than eating out every breakfast. Housekeeping was timely every day. The beach in this area CANNOT BE BEAT, and you are right in the middle of the hotel zone so easy walk to MANY, MANY good places to eat. Easy taxi ride to Zihua. Felt safe! Will be back in Ixtapa again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoyed our two weeks at the Emporio. The staff were always helpful and went above and beyond expectations. The food was average, but they are willing to accommodate special requests. Menu prices were reasonable. The BBQ night was very good. Entertainment every night. Caters mostly to Mexican crowd. Main complaint was the coffee, especially in the rooms, was awful! Also, the over-zealous security staff removing our belongings from our cabana while we were enjoying breakfast was upsetting… otherwise, a good experience. We will return.

Child-oriented

Definitely a family type place. Not very peaceful- there was always music blasting. But the hotel is clean, good bed and shower, and the beach is fantastic. If you’re looking for somewhere to relax I would recommend not staying here, but rather going to somewhere smaller in Zihuatenejo.

Noisy, noisy, noisy and loud all the time

While the pool, the beach, the restaurant, and the hotel were clean and great, the one big problem was NOISE. There was constant music and announcements all day long, and after 9 p.m., there were shows that went on till midnight. There was not a single place to sit and have a conversation! Two wedding were held on the grounds with LOUD music till midnight. We felt bombarded by noise and won't return because of it.

Really enjoyed our stay, very friendly and a good location, The food tended to cater to the Mexican taste, no toast or bacon at breakfast, Chicken every day as main protein with lots of Mexican style sides. No soft serve ice cream although some of the deserts were good. Better communication for English speaking guests would improve the speciality dinners regarding you have to book the day before if you even know about it.

Bonjour, j’aime la proximité de cette hôtel! Le personnel courtois! Excellent service femme de chambre! La sécurité! Les services de l’hôtel ont beaucoup diminué la nourriture très médiocre moins de fruits variés eau dans jus le matin etc…comparé aux années précédentes la propreté des chaises et piscines exécrables! La salle à dîner et comptoir moins propre aussi! La piscine eau visqueuse! Boissons vendu différents prix ex: Pinacolada 90 peso! Le lendemain 140 peso et enfin 70 peso ! Droit à 15 rabais pas appliqués les premières semaines il a fallu que le directeur s’en mêle etc… petit resto extérieur fermé à plusieurs reprises ! Très déçu cette année a comparer aux années précédentes!
