The National Hotel in Jackson was such a treat. The historic nostalgia was like stepping back in time. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. The condition of the hotel was superb. The room was very welcoming and comfortable. The bath towels were luxurious and were folded in a very classy five star manner. Everything was clean and beautifully decorated with historic time period furniture. The room was quite and I slept very well. Staying here was like stepping back in time yet having all of the comfort features of modern times. I would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful old hotel

Looks as if recently remodeled and updated. Very comfortable bed. The a/c kept turning off every hour, so I had to turn it on all night. The office said they would address it, I didn’t tell them till check out. The downstairs bar looked very period correct and nice. Very clean property.

Lovely historic atmosphere. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and the fireplace and comfortable king size bed made for a most pleasant stay. Breakfast was meager, however in line with the cost.

Upon arrival at the historic National Hotel in Jackson, CA, following a lengthy 7-hour drive, I was immediately struck by the establishment's grandeur and helpful staff. With a rich history spanning over 100 years, this hotel has hosted an impressive array of notable guests, including three U.S. presidents and John Wayne. Its stunning Victorian-style architecture is truly a sight to behold, transporting visitors back in time to the 1800s.

Enjoyable weekend stay

Historic hotel in a great location for exploring the area. The staff was friendly and helpful. Even though the hotel is undergoing a renovation, everything was neat and tidy. Nice lobby with a warm fire going. Do it yourself continental breakfast had a good variety.

Nice little town, historic hotel, only thing is noise isolation was not too good, and some towels were on the floor in bath, I was kinda surprised by this mistake… breakfast is majority self cooking style- microwave and half raw food are offered .
