Roads in gated resort are very poorly maintained. Room wasn't ready at designated check in time. In first room no hot water and water flooded room from missing plumbing connection during shower. Phone in room didn't work to call reception. Maintenance came to fix clean up the watera nd told us that the plumbing was a known problem and room should not have been available for use. Was also told by maintenance that they should have told us that phones didn't work while checking in as this was also a known problem. Evening staff at reception was able to get us into another room but it obviously hadn't been used/cleaned recently as there was dust/dirt on floors and countertops.

Traveled in May 2024, start of the rainy season. The resort is large, spread out, full of wildlife, and isolated. You will need a car if you want to explore off property. The room was great. It was clean and had good AC. The only problems we had were with some of the bar and restaurant staff. Service was sometimes good and other times extremely slow. We had a group of seven adults. Five were on the All-Inclusive Plan and my wife and I were on the Breakfast Included Plan so we had a different color bracelet. The service (lunch, dinner & bar) for us was slower. I usually had to ask for the check multiple times or chase someone down to pay. Servers were watching us like hawks to make sure we didn't get anything free from our All-Inclusive friends. When I couldn't get anyone to get our bill while our five friends were constantly waiting for us,I would have to get up and start walking out and then they would chase me down. "You have to pay! You have to pay!" It seems they were making us wait for no reason. Other than that, it was a nice property. The pool was clean and the ocean water was warm and clear. The breakfast buffet was good. We did not try the lunch or dinner buffets. Most of the other restaurant food we had was good to excellent. Prices were about the same as U.S. restaurants. It was overall a good trip but I don't plan to return because I want to explore other parts of the country.

I have been visiting several times this year and in overall, i have had a good experience nevertheless, rhis last visit I must highlight that customer service at the Bar Mantas was poor, from almost all the waiters. To give context, our party wanted to eat here except one that wanted menu from the other restaurant. Wr asked if possible to order from the other menu (as we know the food is prepared in other restaurant) and the waiter just said no. We understood and then asked if possible for our person to walk tonother restaurant, order the food, paid there and bring the food to Mantas Bar and the waiter also said no. Then, just got a bad customer service. Punta Leona food is very, very expensieve and average taste, at least we should expect a great customer service and experience.

Great place to stay with kids! Very safe and great clean beach near by! Also a lot of wild life , Scarlet Macaws are everywhere, iguanas, birds! Ocean is very clean ! Pool area also amazing !!

So many years going to Punta Leona but the service we rreceived this weekend was amazlng from all the staff. It seems thatvthey are working also in property renovations which were definitely needed. Very good experiece, my only downside its the food price, Punta Leona takes advantage of this which unfortunately makes dinning a luxary, specially for national tourits

Una vez más nuestra estadía fue increíble, muy agradable, comoda y tranquila. Las comidas del restaurante carabelas es excelente además que el servicio y atención al cliente es sumamente bueno, resaltó a la capitana Heidi y demás colaboradores del restaurante Carabelas porque siempre nos conscienten y ayudan de gran manera. El bar Mantas también es agradable y el personal es muy colaborador y amable con los pedidos que se les hace.
