Very Good

Might be OK for naive surfer dudes but the beds are worn out, mosquitoes in the room get in through windows that don't seal, street noise, barking dogs and roosters. Just overpriced for what you get.
We stayed here for three days while in Costa Rica. The beach is nice and just steps from the rooms, and the grounds are pretty and well-manicured. We ate at the on-site restaurant (literally 20 steps from the room) once, and the pizza was really good! The hotel is older, but the room was clean, although the bathroom was very small and the tub had stains. Also, there were just three bath towels provided for a room with a queen bed, two singles and a set of bunk beds, and no wash cloths or hand towels. We enjoyed having a kitchenette to make our own breakfast, although again no dish towels or dish cloths provided. A small grocery store was a short walk away where we bought food/drinks and paper towels. There are camp grounds near this property, so we saw/smelled bonfires on the beach in the evening enjoyed by campers and locals. We were awaken each morning about 4 am by a rooster nearby and on the last morning by what sounded like baseballs being thrown onto the metal roof. It turned out to be large seeds/nuts falling from the tree above the roof. If you're looking to spend most of your time on the beach, this is a great place.
This is an excellent hotel if you are looking for a more rustic beach experience. The room was very clean, as were the grounds of the hotel. The beach at this location is beautiful and the currents make it suitable for swimming with children. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The restaurant food was also excellent. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.,

Liked: Staff & service
It’s on the beach so you can walk from your room barefoot and hit the waves. Lots of dogs when I was there so right when I was napping there was a dog barking to wake me up and in the morning in case I may overslept, no problem the dogs were there to wake me up right away. For the price of $25.00 it was a deal but anything at this rate isn’t going to be nice it’s going to give you want you want; it’s going to be on the beach. No alcohol at the restaurant but food was good, byob from the store around the corner. AC worked other than all the junkyard dogs barking all day and morning and the tiny bathroom it was okay I guess
First off, the hotel is in a fantastic location on the beach. It's quiet and intimate with a restaurant on-site. Important detail to know: it’s BYOB and they don’t carry a liquor license. The rooms are okay, more hooks or drying racks for towels and bathing suits would have been nice. Our shower was missing its shower head at first but the staff was able to organize a new one for us in no time. You can also take surf lessons at the hotel. Definitely recommend staying here.
A rooster woke us up at 4:00 AM. Other than that it was fine

Peaceful, quiet right on the beach
This is a casual place not too far out of Jaco, about an hour from Manuel Antonio and it is On The Beach. You can walk from your room onto the sand. There are many parrots and macaws in the area. It is in a more residential area but there is a little store a few minutes walk and they have a good restaurant on the premises. The staff are very kind and friendly. You probably need to have a car since it's a bit off the track (easy to find) and the few amenities. The room felt a little dark for my taste, I like to throw the windows open as soon as I arrive somewhere and if I did that here I would lose all privacy. There is a decent lanai facing the courtyard/garden area. I would stay again, I was there in off season so it was quiet, all signs are that it is very active during the more typical tourist season. Free parking steps from room.
The hotel was very comfortable. The service staff provided all that was necessary for a private and pleasant stay. The hotel is directly on the beach with a small patch of palm trees and a walking path between the hotel and beach. Horses at times wondered down the beach. The monkeys and the macaws visited on occasion, chickens clean out the insects around the property. The majority of the visitors surfed and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Their restaurant has a good selection of food and drink, BYOB. Not five star but good. Shopping for essentials, food and drink, was an easy walk. Morning and evening walks on the beach was very enjoyable. Afternoon sun can be a little strong. The locals are a mixture of expats and Costa Rican. English is spoken. Night life is close by. A person can use a vehicle or not, depending on the level of activity required. Good place for children to see nature.
