maybe my expectations for Johnstown is too high.
My first room was not cleaned. To be fair, I got an upgrade once they were notified. The new room I got had a toilet that just constantly ran except you yanked the handle up. The carpets in the lobby are so gross.

Nice getaway
Nice quiet clean hotel. Looks like the contractors actually cared when doing the rooms and didnt just throw it together. The water gets reallly hot which the wife loved so if you have little ones take heed to the water temp. Hottun was warm and the indoor pool area well kept. Cant comment on breakfast never got up in time for that. Nice location with a sheets, chilis, and walmart within walking distance. Great view over the town at the back of the hotel as well. Would stay their again for sure.

The front desk gal met us with no smile and when she asked what she could do for us we obviously said we'd like to check in. (It was after 2 but not 4) She rudely responded, "only if the room is ready". OK! Way to make us feel welcome! And the room was ready. And more no smiling, as if she's working at a towyard, not in the hospitality business. The suite was clean enough but dated and NO VENTILATION. The window didn't open and there's no A/C. We borrowed a fan from family we were visiting because it was so bad. There is security but not sure what his role is because there were partiers outside every night and loud and unruly guests over the weekend until all hours. We'll for sure choose the drive to Hampton next visit.

Elevator floor was worn and it looks like no one cares to re-stain it. Doorways are all scratched up and needs painted. Toilet handle needed to be held down during entire flushing. DISH and TV had no signal until after an hour of playing with settings. Black specs of stuff came out of the jacuzzi when I turned it on after filling it with water. Told the front desk in the AM and she said she would tell someone but offered no discount for the inconvenience of paying for a room with features and not being able to use them. The room was quiet and clean other than that.

Staff was great. It could use some updates. It was clean which is great. The elevators floor needed new flooring. The back door area needed to get rid of the wooded partition. I came back from shopping and there was a bunch of guys smoking by this area. Scary for a female.

Booked two king size rooms on hotels.com but my reservation at the hotel only had one listed. The woman at the front desk was extremely helpful and was able to secure a second room with 2 queen size beds. Rooms were on the 3rd and 4th floors and both floors were very quiet with no noise heard from adjoining rooms. The pool was inviting and the jetted hot tub was a big hit. We had the pool to ourselves both nights we were there. The only challenges we encountered in the rooms were that the pillows did not offer any support and the toilets were barely knee height. The hotel was very clean but the elevator we used smelled like rotting fruit.
