The water was switched off so couldn't have a shower or use the toilet in our room. No breakfast facilities. Nobody could speak English. Also prevented from entering the hotel by a police squad because an accused murderer (El Diablo) and his accomplice (Texas) were being arrested, who were both staying on the top floor. The WORST hotel experience I have ever had in my life!

The air conditioner is as not working, the WiFi only worked at the pool. Tv did not work and the pool was too dirty and the hot tub was way too hot burned my self. I do not recommend it. Save your money and trip it’s very deep in the woods

This property was a “Barcelo” hotel at some point… now it is just another rundown resort in Honduras, which there are many of those. Maybe it is a cultural thing, or maybe it is people with big dreams, or too much greed that build these masive properties, but don’t follow up with proper maintenance. I feel bad for the people that purchased villas here, the facilties and the original villas are so rundown. Yet, they continue to build new villas. When I’m here, I do my morning walk around the entire property. It is a BIG property, and so I think… Are buyers blind, or is there something else going on here? Why do they keep building & buying new villas in a place that keeps going down??? At the hotel, they have kept the basics running; restaurant, pool, rooms. That is it! However, the two or three rooms I have stayed at are in much need of deep cleaning and basic maintenance: sliding doors don’t lock, dirty baseboards and molding… they do the basic room cleaning, but that is it! It is not disgusting, it’s just not sparkling clean. So, why do I keep staying here, because it is the best option on my way home from the airport. That tells you how poor and lacking Honduras is. If I don’t stop here to rest, I will have to drive at night, which is very, very, very dangerous in Honduras, so don’t do it, don’t drive at night here! Second reason is, there isn’t anything better after La Ceiba.
