The staff definitely showed the Aloha spirit. Very friendly and helpful! The property itself was very nice, incredible views, away from the main part of town but close drive to most attractions. This hotel is the best in Kona!

The hotel was BEAUTIFUL, staff were friendly, efficient, and professional. I especially liked that the front desk clerk upgraded our room, so we had a sleeping area, and a living area as well as 2 bathrooms and 2 balconies. It was our anniversary and the room upgrade just put it over the top! I also liked that the hotel has a laundry center- so we were able to wash/dry our clothes. The food at the resort restaurant was a bit pricey, and nothign special to equate to the price. However, I was glad I purchased the VIP package which came with breakfast, happy hour and valet parking. Happy Hour was my favorite! The food was DELICIOUS and the staff at the Voyager Club were the best (Thank you-Tessa, Sharlaine and Randy-breakfast).

Overall I loved everything about the property; but I did not find the food and drink prices be very reasonable or consistent. The restaurant on site was super expensive and ordering the same drink multiple days was hit or miss. Great place to stay and enjoy the view, but you should think about having sometime to to stock up on food. You could also go to some other local restaurants too.

Check in was easy and reception offered room upgrade for additional price. However, our room we chose was Oceanside and very spacious with balcony. We watched sunset from our patio. A lot of amenities at resort including poolside bar, two pools, slide free breakfast and happy hour as part of package purchased. All Staff were friendly and we utilized valet parking that was part of our package for free. The resort has a luau on site and we purchased tickets. The luau was Amazing! Resort located close to excursions we had purchased. Resort was very clean and had the Hawaiian touches. We will definitely stay at outrigger resorts again.

As an Expedia Platinum member, I expected recognition and VIP benefits. Instead, my first room was hot (79°), musty, and smelled of mildew. Only after I walked back to the desk was I offered a “partial ocean view” upgrade—something my benefits should have provided automatically. On our last night, the resort lost power around 4 PM. The pool slide, bars, and restaurants stopped operating. A manager falsely claimed it was a “countywide” outage, yet off property we saw lights, businesses, and traffic signals working fine—it was only Outrigger. The property was pitch dark and unsafe at night. We had to pack in the dark while teens banged on doors. Staff admitted this was the second outage in two weeks. Instead of compensating for the disruption, safety risks, and $500 last-minute relocation, they refunded only the single night we didn’t stay. To add insult, they powered and cooled the front desk while guests sweated in hot, dark rooms. Honesty and guest safety are non-negotiable. This resort failed on both counts. I will not return and do not recommend.

The partial ocean view booking was really a family pool slide view! The staff was helpful to some extent. After 3 changes we finally got a true partial ocean view room. Besides that the property was good. Great location and activity options. Decent food and purchase option on property. Overall, I’d recommend.

There is couple options on the resort but expect to pay little more than going off the resort. We liked that there was luau on the resort. Also there separate pools where the children can enjoy and pool that was adult only. I would recommend this resort. My family had great time!

This is probably the nicest place in Kona. Sure if you go all the out to Waikoloa you get 5 star. But the Outrigger has been redone and is quite nice and very spacious.
