Great view, but....

Room had a great view, but also had so many gnats and other bugs that would convince me not to stay at this hotel again. A couple members of wait staff were rude.

The Royal Kona Resort is okay. We stayed one night there before checking in to our VRBO. Thankfully the resort is undergoing construction because the property's age is showing.

Please provide an area for recycling. It would be great if you had a placard on the bed that we could leave there to say NOT to change sheets and hanging towels. It would save an enormous amount of energy, water and staff time. Mahalo!

The hotel was under renovations during my stay. I booked the luau which was outside. Endured a wet meal in the pouring rain. After which they cancelled the entertainment. The hotel did provide tickets for us to be able to see the show again indoors on another night but did not provide food for us. So we got to sit and watch everyone else around us eat. It was awkward especially since we didn’t get to enjoy the food the first time since it was soaking wet. However the restaurant on the premises was excellent along with the live entertainment on Thursday night.
