The room 116 is in need of refurbishing. The bathroom is not safe due to the ground being drenched in water after a shower thus making it liable for injuries. The windows need to be cleaned on a regular basis. The staff are extremely helpful and did their utmost to provide all the necessary items needed. USB ports didn’t work and heated up. In room 115 the curtain ties were difficult to use because of loose fittings. The location is perfect for beach and shops.

The best hotel in Langkawi. The room is fantastic. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I have been to Langkawi three times, and this is by far the best hotel.

Very nice hotel, excellent staff and very close to the airport free shuttle. If you wanted to you could probably walk. It’s about a block away. Would highly recommend if you have an overnight stay with a connecting flight.

The sea view was great and definitely one of the highlights of the stay. However, there were a few things to take note of. The power points on the balcony didn’t work, so we had to check around the apartment to find out which ones were working. No toothbrushes were provided initially. They only provided them after we requested, so it’s better to bring your own toiletries. For food, I would recommend grabbing food from outside as it’s much cheaper. Only one restaurant at the resort was open during our stay, and the prices were quite expensive. There are some shops outside, but the choices are limited. There are also 24/7 shops nearby, which are convenient for emergency purchases. Breakfast was fair—not too bad, but nothing special. Room cleaning could also be improved. The cleaning was quite basic, and the restroom wasn’t properly cleaned. Also, do check whether the balcony has been cleaned, as ours wasn’t cleaned until we specifically asked them to do it. One good thing is that Parade Mall is right beside the resort. It has a supermarket, money changers, and baby shops, which was very convenient for us.

When we arrived at Ambong - we were completely lost for words, the view, the attention to detail and the overall warmth and service from the team were better than 10/10. We’ve stayed all over LANGKAWI across different 5* hotels and Ambong wins hands down for the service and cleanliness of the rooms. In particular, we want to thank Nizal and Shaffy for coming to drive us up to our room and always with a smile! The breakfast and restaurant are amazing. Great quality and extensive! We had the meat breakfast at Rimba (Ambong Pool Villas restaurant) which has incredible views over the water and is perfect for sunset dinner and drinks but also really loved the vegan breakfast at the rainforest restaurant … maybe even MORE! (Thank you Nizal for the recommendation). The dusky monkeys are such a wonderful treat, waking up and watching them from our bedroom window was so special. The room was always made up perfectly, and their turndown service was really appreciated as they made the room perfect to retreat to after a long day of exploring the island. A few practical bits to note - the pool area is quite shaded due to the rainforest around which is perfect in the heat, but it could have been spruced up a little in the morning. The room was very high up into the mountain which was perfect for the views, but it does mean you must rely on their shuttle service - although we enjoyed a few walks up and down for our health!
