Older property but well maintained. Staff had difficulty understanding type of accessible room needed to accommodate my spouse. Required moving rooms to obtain a room that was partially accessible. Hotel could improve in this regard.

Room was for a physically disabled person but was difficult to hold the room door and push a wheelchair over the threshold. The first room we were assigned was for hearing impaired not physically impaired. Not certain how my request was so confused.Staff remedied the situation in a timely manner. Good response from staff for additional linens on 2nd day.

So first off, let me explain my ratings. When we arrived to check in for the room we had booked more than a month ago, we were informed that the hotel was closed and our reservations were canceled due to a water line break. We were told that there were two other hotels within 5-7 minutes of us that had availability. When we found another hotel at 10:30 PM, we discovered that the rates were much higher because it was NASCAR Weekend, KU vs. TCU at Arrowhead, and there was a large concert along with Family Weekend for the University of Kansas. We ended up staying at the Courtyard by Marriott down the road, where the staff informed us they knew the water line had been broken for a full week and that the hotel had been closed all week. Additionally, they didn’t inform us of this in advance, nor did they offer to help us find other accommodations. They simply said it was an unfortunate situation and there was nothing they could do. Here’s the kicker: We called at 11 AM on the morning of our arrival and asked about check-in time mentioning we had a reservation for that day. They said nothing about the hotel being closed; they only stated that check-in was from 4 PM to midnight. What a joke! We also paid in advance and were informed that we should be reimbursed within 4-5 business days, but since we booked through a third party, Expedia, it may take longer.

I was told that a water main burst and no one could stay at the hotel. An employee stated that Marriott would find other accommodations for those inconvenienced, I never received any notification or explanation. This was a poor way to treat guests.

No cart around to get luggage upstairs at tome of arrival. There was 2 of us and only 2 lsrge towels. While the breakfast was better than some hotels the cost was too high for the options. I would have rather had a hot waffle i made myself. The free continental breakfasts at a less expensive hotel has better options.

Check in was very, very time consuming. The "pre-check in" process did not eliminate any time at the counter waiting on issues with other guests checking in. Also, stairs are not convenient to the lobby in case you are on the 2nd floor and don't want to wait on an elevator.
