Truly The Truitt is the absolute most well thought out boutique hotel. They’ve thought of it all, bedding, toiletries, towels, design, vibe. Too much to list! The Christopher Elbow gourmet chocolates and espresso or wine is a generous treat. Ryan and David could give courses on hospitality as well as interior design. I would recommend a stay here to anyone wanting a luxurious experience. Thank you both for creating such a beautiful place for others to relax and enjoy. Parking was no issue even given the amount of snow fall.
The room was a little smaller than we expected, but very nice. We could hear people walking around in the hallways but it wasnt crazy loud. The private balcony was nice touch. Everything else was very clean and cozy.
Was just about perfect. Didn’t care much for the climb with luggage up a tight curving stairwell to our room on top and the fact that our top floor was so cold, but our age had to do with the first and a provided space heater fixed the latter
We had a wonderful stay at the Truitt. The hotel is beautifully decorated, and you can tell the owners have put so much thought into each and every detail. When we arrived in the evening it was very easy to park and access the hotel and our rooms. There was an open bottle of prosecco and glasses for the guests in the entryway, which was so thoughtful. Ryan was so easy to reach and communicate with by phone and text and helpful with recommendations. Go ahead and book your room here, you won't regret it!
The team behind The Truitt has captured my heart! I had the pleasure of staying in their new property at 4343 Oak and the decor, comfort and luxury of the room, design and amenities is a perfect match to their original property. I can’t recommend this trio of boutique hotels highly enough. The owners are gracious, easy to reach, and have local recommendations for food, drink, and nightlife at the ready. Rooms are complete with complementary surprises and Hulu. Can’t wait to visit again.
I stayed one night in the ground level carriage house suite. The room and grounds were very nice. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. I enjoyed the location and proximity to restaurants and shopping. It would have been nice to have a mini fridge in the room to keep drinks cold. Also would have liked to have a desk chair. I would stay here again the next time I’m in Kansas City.
This was the most incredible stay! Beautiful and so comfortable. Probably the best sleep I’ve had this year. Can’t wait to return the next time I’m in Kansas City.
Beautiful building, very clean room, everything was handled by txt, shower was wonderful. Only suggestion was my mattress was not comfortable and sheet had strong fragrance [wonderful for most people but I am sensitive to them). I would recommend Truitt.
Really lovely place! They gave the old Oak St Mansion bnb new life. The room was so comfortable and the whole place is so well appointed. Very comfortable, very clean place to stay.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The Truitt is a beautiful property with lovely rooms, ours included an outdoor patio! The location was great, very close to the Nelson Atkins & Kemper Museums, and very close to the Plaza area. Although, the doors had secure keypad locks. Inside & out so we felt secure. Although, we really enjoyed staying here, it was weird that there wasn’t any staff on site. So that’s just a personal preference.
The Truitt was simple and sweet. Great for a couple days away with my partner. It’s an old place with lots of character and beautifully decorated. The staff was very kind and helpful. The contactless check-in & out was very convenient! The only thing that wasn’t great was the wifi. There were a couple connection options and neither could really power a work day. The smart TV worked great though so watching Netflix in the evening was nice. All and all The Truitt is a nice place to stay for a couple nights! Thanks for your hospitality!
A wonderful boutique hotel in a lovely area of Kansas City right down the block from the Nelson Atkins Museum. Very accommodating and pleasant owners/managers.
A wonderful boutique hotel with owners/managers who could not be more accommodating in a lovely area of Kansas City, just down the block from the Nelson-Atkins Museum.
The Truitt boutique hotel experience is so very special. I felt as if I was visiting my very chic friend’s home for the evening. Every piece of furniture and piece of art hanging on the wall seems to have been very carefully curated to make one feel special. Little touches in the room like sumptuous velvet curtains and a surprise full balcony attached to my standard room upped my feeling of luxuriation even more. I would recommend this hotel to my most well-travelled friends.
