First of all, we really liked the location of this resort and the property itself was really well kept and beautiful. However, the particular room we were assigned (#3109 in Canoe building) was not great. When we first entered the room we were welcomed with an overwhelming pungent odor of mold/mildew/mustiness. The front desk was contacted and they replaced the air filter and put an ionizer in the room while we were not in it. This did help the smell decrease over time, but it was very apparent that the staff knew this was an issue with our specific room. I'm not sure why a complete remodel/overhaul of this room in particular is not being done to alleviate this known issue (the smell was really bad inside the dishwasher so that may be the culprit). There were some other issues with the room such as the closet door in the twin bed room was wonky and the door of that same bedroom would not stay open unless propped. Otherwise the Coconut Marketplace right next door was a really nice to walk around at and the location on the island to get to both sides pretty easily was also a bonus. The Lava Lava Beach Club at the property right next door was a great place for dinner!
