Key West bound
We were on our way to Key West and last minute decided to leave one day early to spend the afternoon and night in Key Largo. Relaxing location with access to two restaurants/bars on the water. We enjoyed watching the boats come in from day trips and the sunset. We live in Central Florida and it's about 5 hours drive to Key Largo. Stopping gave us plenty of time to drive on down to Key West the next day.

Great place to stay in Key Largo
The 2-bedroom suite was huge and worked well for us. The staff was very nice and helpful. The location was very attractive on the canal. Good restaurant next door. Only con: other than Cheerios, all breakfast foods sugar laden or high in fat.

Hi we did not have a good experience at Marina Del Mar resort. We checked in around 5 pm and wanted to use the restroom after checking in. There were two rest rooms outside the lobby area and one of them was clogged and dirty which we brought to their attention. That was not cleaned/addressed until we checked out the next morning. When we got in the room we just tried to open the blinds, the whole thing fell off. A maintenance guy came in after we called and after checking went back ti get his tools and came back and fixed it which took about an hour. We were hungry but waited till this was fixed to go out for dinner. Also, the area where the refrigerator was kept was dirty. After that we went to have dinner and came back and wanted to shower but the water was not coming from the shower head. We called again and a different maintenance guy came and checked and went back to get a new faucet to fix it. Whole thing took another hour again. We came to the hotel to relax and sleep after a day full of activities and had to leave early next morning to go to Everglades. The whole experience was not good and request a full refund as soon as possible for the inconvenience that we had to face. Thanks Aishwarya Nayak

This property had some shining stars and some ugly warts. The location is great and being on the marina was really fun! The pool was nice and the beds were comfortable. We also had access to the neighboring Holiday Inn pools/hot tub/ tennis courts. The down side...the room was very run down. There was an exposed electric outlet (no plate covering it) that we reported and someone came to look at it...said they'd be back in 10 minutes and never came back. The walls were scuffed and dingy and the cabinet doors were ragged on the bottom edges. Our bathroom light also didn't work. We had a kitchenette that had 4 plates, 2 bowls, 3 forks, 1 spoon, 1 butter knife and a pair of tongs. We asked the front desk staff and they said they'd try to find us more but never did. So my family of 4 had to be creative with meals. There was a broken pane of glass on the ground outside the building for our whole visit (4 days) despite my reporting it to staff. The hotel has a bar located at each end that is VERY noisy in the evening and at night. We were the very last room on the 2nd floor of the building and got ALL the bar noise! Try and request the middle section if you can to avoid noise. One staff person was very kind and helpful, the rest were not. When I reported that the hot tub was the same temp as the pool I was told "good to know"... We did report all our issues to the manager and she offered compensation which redeemed the place a little.

Good location
Excellent location. On the water front near the African Queen. Centrally positioned for the John Pennekamp national park and a drive into the Everglades or Key West. We enjoyed the Skipper restaurant. The apartment was spacious with a comfortable bed but the kitchen units were very tired and desperately in need of changing out. Breakfast was pretty basic but filled a spot.
