The room I chose said (SPA). I was looking for an ocean front /view property after researching many options , this one was the only one , that I thought would be the one! I was envisioning a morning on my balcony ,watching the ocean and sunrise. Instead ,I got the (SPA) building. Bottom floor next to the parking lot and side view of the SPA entrance. They had no availability for an upgrade. It was pricey and I thought when I booked, SPA it meant, it had a Whirlpool in the room “SPA”. i had no idea Spa described the building I would be in. If I had known, I would of passed ,and not rented ,especially for that rate. I had no choice than to stay and thought I would make the best of it. I ignored the hair that was not mine inside the shower. When I went to sleep I noticed the bedsheets felt crusty. I felt a biteon my calf , must be bed bugs. Waited to see if It would happen again. In the morning I was itchy and sure enough another one bit me. I have pictures. I called the front desk asked them to change my sheets because it had bed bugs. Wrote to the Manager and I did not get a reply until 2/15 , Saying I chose the room. No, I did not choose that room. I would of never stayed in that room. I wanted to have specifically a room that was facing the ocean. I did not know the hotel had a different building called SPA and that I would be in the parking lot. The room being dirty and bed bugs , topped the icing of my stay.

The floor of the room was dirty and sandy. Particularly bothersome when getting into bed. The shower leaked water, which ran into the bedroom. The light bulbs were burned out, and the service at the beach was inconsistent. The phone did not work, so no way to reach the main desk without walking down to the lobby. Request for ocean view upper floor was not granted; thus, sunset view was obstructed by the surrounding buildings. For the money we spent, this was not worth the price.

The staff were extremely helpful and nice. The Pier House Resort is very well maintained. It is a gorgeous property and super close to everything. We ate at the restaurants a few times. The food was great!

Decent hotel in a great location. It’s private beach, while small, is a bonus, as was the pool/beach bar. Hotel room was expensive and not particularly luxurious given the price, but it was spacious, bed was comfortable, and enjoyed having a lanai. The main restaurant was disappointing (although the service was top notch). Overall, the location is what’s best about this hotel.

The property honestly needs a little sprucing up and maintenance...but after all, the Pier House has been there for decades. Despite this it's still one of our favorite places and the staff is awesome. Nowhere else we'd want to stay in Key West.!

Rooms were clean. Hotel is close to all the bars and restaurants. Beach area is small & can get crowded. Depending on the wind, can get a lot of seaweed in water and on the beach. The chart room bar is a classic dive bar inside hotel. Service is great. No issues.

The beachfront space alone makes this place a gem in Key West. Rooms are exceptionally clean, and the grounds are lush with tropical foliage and even a turtle pond. We enjoyed our lanai for morning coffee. A cool shaded grotto stands next to the sunny beach, so there is something for everyone. Close to Mallory Square and Duval Street.
