Honest Review of 3 Peaks Lodge
First and foremost, 3 Peaks Lodge is a budget hotel. That in itself isn’t necessarily a problem, but the hotel’s website gives the impression of a more upscale experience. In hindsight, I should have done more research and opted to stay on the mountain instead. The location is close but not really walkable to the lifts. While walking to the slopes might be possible, it would likely be too cumbersome in ski or snowboard boots. My wife and I chose to drive and gear up in the parking lot instead.
Unfortunately, our stay came with several glaring issues:
1. The room was extremely dated, with torn carpeting and a popcorn ceiling.
2. Both the lobby and our room had a strong odor—a mix of cigarettes and air fresheners—not exactly the fresh mountain air you’d hope for on vacation.
3. A staff member entered our room without knocking despite the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door. Luckily, my wife and I were just talking, but it was an awkward and unsettling experience that left us on edge for the rest of our stay.
4. The sauna appeared to be out of order, with broken controls that looked like they hadn’t been updated since the 1980s.
Overall, 3 Peaks Lodge should only be considered if you’re truly on a tight budget and have no other options. Otherwise, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
