Very dark room and very dated. A bit of mold outside the shower and I had to kill a black bug in there. Also, brochures they gave us said restaurant hours were until 9pm, but was told they close at 8pm when I tried to order take out food. Very disappointed.

Powder House Lodge-Our favorite!

We loved Powder House Lodge! I wish we had had more time to spend in the Mount Rushmore area because we definitely wouldn't have minded another night here! It was clean, large, bathroom is updated, and just overall-cute. The bathroom towels/washcloths were thick and there were lots of them. They have a restaurant on the property. We ate dinner there when we arrived and breakfast the next morning. We enjoyed both meals and had very friendly staff. This hotel was a great value for our money and was the favorite place we stayed on our 2 week trip!

We enjoyed having our “own” cabin. It was a duplex but felt like your own space. We were right by the playground, which my kids loved! We ordered food from the restaurant twice while we were there and it was good! It was a convenient location for our visit to Badlands & Mt. Rushmore. We also enjoyed having our own patio to sit outside and hangout.

Nothing fancy, but very nice

We just needed a basic room as a base while we visited the nearby parks, and Powder House was everything we needed. Clean, convenient, and the restaurant was very good. I would certainly recommend.
